Job Summary
Our client, a leading name in the hospitality sector, is recruiting a committed and diligent Kitchen Steward to bolster back-of-house operations. The selected candidate will uphold stringent cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, manage dishwashing and equipment sanitation, oversee waste disposal, and strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations—all within a high-pressure, five-star hospitality setting. This position demands a highly structured, physically capable, meticulous, and adaptable professional who can thrive in a demanding, premium hospitality environment.
Key duties involve overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure seamless workflows, coordinating cross-functional teams to align on project goals, and implementing strategic initiatives that drive organizational growth. Responsibilities also include analyzing performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, communicating effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment that enhances team productivity. Additional tasks consist of managing budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and leading continuous improvement efforts to optimize processes and deliver exceptional results.
Promptly and efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment.
Ensure that kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation zones are consistently kept clean and sanitary.
Ensure that kitchen equipment and supplies are handled, stored, and organized correctly.
Provide assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel with fundamental meal preparation and operational tasks as needed.
Responsible for the proper removal and disposal of waste materials in compliance with established hygiene and safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of garbage collection areas at all times.
Responsibilities include replenishing cleaning supplies and promptly alerting supervisors when inventory levels are running low.
Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment with precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols.
Adhere to all established food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols without exception.
Support the upkeep of pristine conditions at conferences, banquets, and other major gatherings.
Maintain adherence to the meticulous cleanliness and presentation benchmarks synonymous with five-star hospitality.
Respond immediately to any cleaning requests received from the kitchen and food & beverage teams.
Ensure thorough coordination of deep cleaning schedules and perform regular kitchen maintenance tasks as required.
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field to be considered for this position. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, while a master’s degree is preferred. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-standard software, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. Prior experience leading projects or teams is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate with stakeholders and convey complex information clearly.
A hospitality diploma or certificate is required for this role.
A qualification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline is highly beneficial.
A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience in a Kitchen Steward role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting is essential.
A background in high-volume or luxury hospitality environments is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and hygiene standards is essential.
Capable of safely managing cleaning chemicals and equipment with proper handling techniques.
Capable of maintaining physical fitness and endurance to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated flexibility in accommodating varied work schedules, including weekends and holidays.
