JOB PURPOSE
The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of participants for the study at designated healthcare facilities in Nairobi County. This role involves providing regular updates and reporting directly to the Study Coordinator.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the following key duties and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be tasked with executing a range of specialized assignments, including but not limited to, overseeing daily operations, managing project timelines, and coordinating cross-functional teams. Additionally, they will be expected to analyze data to identify trends, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend strategic improvements. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels are essential. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in relevant software tools, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Prior experience in a similar capacity and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency are critical requirements for this position.
Screening, recruiting, and enrolling study participants who meet eligibility criteria in accordance with established study protocols.
Gather information in strict adherence to the established Standard Operating Procedures.
Input collected data into the Android tablet system (RedCap)
Ensure the integrity, completeness, and secure handling of collected data by storing it in compliance with study-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) and established clinical best practices.
Enforce Google Cloud Platform (GCP) operational protocols and strict confidentiality protocols with precision.
Compile daily summaries of study participants who have been screened and enrolled in the clinic.
Ensuring that the study participants receive the appropriate interventions and procedures
To guarantee adherence to study protocols among all participants, it is essential to monitor and enforce compliance with the established procedures throughout the duration of the research.
To exhibit proficiency in the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to established guidelines throughout all procedural stages.
Maintain strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout all phases of the study.
Conduct training sessions for facility staff on the PM+ system to ensure comprehensive understanding and proficient usage.
Prepare and submit biweekly summaries detailing recruitment and enrollment activities for the study to the study Coordinator.
Monthly, data capture forms are meticulously completed to document any modifications to study strategies, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all procedural changes.
Qualified candidates must fulfill the following mandatory criteria: a degree in a relevant field, a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a comparable role, and proficiency with industry-standard software tools. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. Eligibility also hinges on possessing valid certifications, where applicable, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
A diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili, which are the primary languages spoken by our research participants, is essential.
A minimum of two years of hands-on research experience is required.
Requires strong proficiency in utilizing REDCAP for data collection purposes.
Should possess comprehensive knowledge of the study area, specifically Nairobi County.
Possessing advanced proficiency in computer applications is essential.
Requires a valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection certification that remains current for at least 48 months from the date of this advertisement.
Proficient in communication: Required to maintain consistent correspondence with the study coordinator through email and Zoom interactions.
A collaborative professional capable of effectively engaging with fellow study personnel at the site.
