What You’ll Do
At DAKOTA, you will immediately assume leadership of the AI Operations team, spearheading delivery, expanding the team’s capabilities, and demonstrating its impact from the outset. This role involves developing automation solutions and AI agents for internal processes while serving as a trusted advisor to Engineering, facilitating the integration of AI into customer-facing products. We invite you to contribute to an innovative fusion of advanced AI technologies and socially impactful initiatives, advancing digital and financial inclusion across Africa.
Your primary duties will include managing key aspects of the role, ensuring all tasks are completed with precision and efficiency. This position demands a proactive approach to handling responsibilities, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and delivering measurable results. You will be expected to oversee critical operations, collaborate with stakeholders, and adhere to established protocols. Additionally, your role may involve problem-solving, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to support organizational goals.
Oversee a team of two AI Ops Engineers, taking full ownership of their project delivery, technical development, and daily operational tasks.
Efficiently prioritize your workload by adeptly managing competing requests from various teams, utilizing a well-defined prioritization framework that you will both establish and continuously refine.
Develop and deploy automations and agent-based solutions designed to enhance the efficiency and productivity of both internal teams and customer-facing personnel.
Maintain the operational integrity and performance of the AI tooling infrastructure as its usage expands to support over 2,500 employees.
To remain abreast of cutting-edge advancements in AI tools and technologies, evaluate which innovations offer tangible value versus fleeting hype.
Contribute to the enhancement of AI training processes across the broader organization, specifically collaborating with Engineering teams.
The technical environment encompasses a range of systems, tools, and platforms essential for project execution and operational efficiency. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is required, along with expertise in frameworks like Django, Spring Boot, or .NET. Knowledge of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB is necessary, while proficiency in cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred. Additionally, experience with version control systems like Git and containerization tools such as Docker is expected. The role demands a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies to ensure seamless development and deployment workflows.
We seek expertise in advanced AI and agentic frameworks, including but not limited to Claude, Claude Code, Anthropic’s suite of tools, Lang Chain, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK), or comparable agentic frameworks.
Automation and prototyping play a pivotal role, involving scripting, workflow optimization tools, AI-assisted development methodologies, and the implementation of rapid prototyping solutions, such as those offered by Tercel and Railway.
We develop and maintain enterprise tooling solutions, including identity automation through Microsoft Entra, internal platforms, Notion for documentation and collaboration, and integration with HiBob for HR and workforce management.
For the past year, production environments have featured automations powered by Claude, Notion, HiBob, and Entry, which are currently operational.
Our Approach
Develop and implement solutions firsthand rather than merely offering recommendations, as we operate within a dynamic, execution-driven environment focused on delivering operational automations and intelligent agents.
Demonstrate measurable impact initially with a small team of two engineers, then leverage those results to justify further expansion of resources and personnel.
A strong customer-first mentality should drive your approach, ensuring internal teams are treated as valued customers while developing practical tooling solutions that meet their needs.
Evaluate emerging AI tools based on their tangible benefits rather than sensationalized marketing claims.
What You Need
