Job Purpose:

The Lead Systems Integrator & Developer oversees the comprehensive delivery and dependability of the organization’s critical data integrations. This position involves designing and maintaining the data infrastructure for an expanding, multi-campus international school network, as well as serving as the principal architect of the school’s integration backbone. The role entails constructing and sustaining automated data flows that link HR, MIS, Library, and Google Workspace platforms. Accountable for the entire delivery lifecycle, this position spans from requirements gathering with non-technical stakeholders to architecture, development, deployment, ongoing monitoring, and documentation.

Applicants must possess a relevant academic qualification along with substantial professional experience in the field. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced degrees or specialized certifications. Prior experience should demonstrate a progressive career trajectory, ideally encompassing at least five years of hands-on work in a comparable role. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, complemented by a proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative discipline is required.

A minimum of three years of professional experience in a junior or mid-level developer position is required.

Demonstrates a strong history of designing, implementing, and sustaining production-grade Python scripts that automate data synchronization across enterprise-level platforms.

We seek a candidate with a proven track record in designing and overseeing Zero-Touch onboarding and offboarding workflows, ensuring seamless integration and disconnection processes across systems. Expertise in automating identity lifecycle management, provisioning/provisioning of user accounts, and maintaining synchronization between platforms is essential. Additionally, the ideal applicant will have experience integrating these workflows with identity and access management (IAM) systems, cloud services, and enterprise applications to enhance operational efficiency and security.

Provides expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Directory Services, including administration of Google Workspace or comparable platforms.

Extensive hands-on experience in developing and deploying API-driven integration bridges to automate previously manual business processes.

Proven capability to manage the entire project lifecycle, beginning with requirements gathering alongside non-technical stakeholders and extending through to deployment, monitoring, and the handoff of documentation.

Proven expertise in deploying structured logging solutions, configuring alerting mechanisms, and establishing foundational observability practices for unattended scheduled jobs within production environments.

Added Advantage

Post-graduate credentials in Data Engineering or Cloud Architecture are required, such as the Google Professional Data Engineer or AWS Certified Data Analytics certifications.

Professional certifications in Power BI, Advanced Data Analytics, or Google Workspace are highly valued for this role.

Proficiency in Kenya’s Data Protection Act of 2019 is required.

Professionals should have prior involvement in the K-12 education sector or familiarity with School Management Information Systems (MIS).

Proficiency in handling multi-campus or multi-entity data environments, with a strong ability to consolidate and reconcile data spanning organizational or geographic boundaries, is required.

Proficiency in transitioning legacy scripts from on-premise infrastructure to modern, serverless or containerized cloud solutions is required.

Extensive experience in a leadership or senior role, overseeing technical documentation, establishing and maintaining code standards, and facilitating knowledge transfer for a small team.

Proficient in utilizing Integrated Library Systems (ILS) platforms, with specific expertise in Doha, including seamless REST API integration for efficient patron and catalogue management.
