Develop and implement a targeted retail strategy by identifying key customer segments, product offerings, channels, and distribution models, all within the established risk tolerance framework.

Strategically lead and oversee the branch network to foster growth in deposits, high-quality lending, customer acquisition, and transaction volumes.

Spearhead the financial performance of Retail Banking by elevating profitability, expanding deposits and lending, and optimizing operational efficiency to meet established business targets.

Demonstrate consistent attainment of individual performance targets while contributing to the realization of Retail Banking business objectives, in accordance with the Bank’s established performance management framework.

Drive disciplined growth in retail lending while maintaining full accountability for portfolio quality, overseeing initiatives to reduce non-performing loans (NPLs), enhance recoveries, execute restructures, and implement portfolio remediation strategies.

Enhance credit underwriting standards, portfolio oversight, early warning mechanisms, and risk management controls to avert the recurrence of historical asset quality challenges.

Establish and uphold rigorous performance benchmarks for Branch Managers and Retail teams, encompassing key areas such as sales targets, service excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.

Deliver strategic initiatives focused on operational efficiency, process automation, channel migration, and cost optimization to enhance productivity and minimize cost-to-serve.

Ensure strict adherence to all Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) regulations, internal policies, audit prerequisites, and governance benchmarks within the Retail Banking division.

Direct the Retail Banking teams toward excellence by cultivating a performance-driven, responsible, customer-focused, and risk-conscious organizational culture.

Identify strategic growth opportunities and collaborate with marketing and product development teams to develop, price, and introduce customized products and services for both retail and high-value customers. Additionally, track and evaluate the performance of these offerings to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Collaborate closely with branch managers to develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed at restoring profitability to underperforming branches.

Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in industry-standard software applications and strong analytical skills are essential.
