Requirements

A minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive work experience in the field, including at least three (3) years serving in the capacity of Principal Digital Health Officer or an equivalent role, is required.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Health Informatics, Health Information Systems, Health Records and Information Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Epidemiology, Health Economics and Policy, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Systems, Data Science and Analytics, or Computer Science is required.

A master’s degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Systems, Health Records and Information Science, ICT, Epidemiology, Health Economics and Policy, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Systems, Data Science and Analytics, or Computer Science is required.

Registration with an appropriate and accredited regulatory body, as required, is mandatory.

Obtained a leadership credential from an accredited institution, comprising a minimum of four weeks of structured instruction.

Proven expertise in utilizing a range of computer applications is required for this role.

Proven success and strong performance capabilities evidenced by tangible work outputs and measurable achievements.

Key Responsibilities

Devising, executing, and evaluating robust policies, strategic frameworks, standards, protocols, legislative measures, and regulatory directives to govern integrated health information systems.

Design and implement comprehensive visualization dashboards and GIS-based tools for real-time data monitoring and analysis, ensuring seamless integration for enhanced operational insights.

Transforming raw health data into actionable insights through the use of integrated health information systems, this role automates the collection, synthesis, and dissemination of critical data to streamline reporting mechanisms and enhance operational efficiency.

The role involves maintaining data accuracy and guaranteeing system compliance with healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements.

Develop and manage automated systems for generating and displaying indicator reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and comprehensive data visualization through mapping functionalities.

Developing and executing robust data recovery protocols, establishing stringent backup guidelines, and implementing proactive breach mitigation strategies.

Developing both qualitative and quantitative surveys to assess stakeholder information requirements constitutes a core responsibility of this role.

Crafting clear, insightful narratives grounded in data—enhanced with charts and visualizations to effectively communicate key insights—is a core responsibility of this role.

The establishment of clear objectives is essential for overseeing health information systems, ensuring the enhancement of data quality across all operations.

The position involves evaluating and disseminating reports on critical performance metrics and policy formulation.

Designing and producing comprehensive reports to support program design initiatives, as well as integrating early warning systems into operational frameworks, is a key responsibility of this role.

To collaborate with stakeholders and programs, identifying key indicators that necessitate ongoing monitoring and evaluation.

Planning, evaluating, and seamlessly integrating emerging technologies into current health information systems are essential responsibilities. Professional certification in compliance is a mandatory prerequisite for this position. Applicants must possess valid compliance credentials that meet industry standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks and organizational policies. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of compliance principles through prior experience or specialized training in relevant areas such as anti-money laundering, data protection, or financial regulations.

A valid Certificate of Good Conduct, issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), is required for this position.

A valid compliance certificate issued by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELD) must be provided.

Obtain a Tax Compliance Certificate issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

A current declaration form provided by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACH) is required.

We require a valid Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) clearance certificate.
