Job Objective/Purpose
To spearhead and manage vaccination initiatives targeting school-aged children and healthcare staff, while ensuring learner engagement in immunization services, this role is responsible for guaranteeing the safe, ethical, and compliant administration of vaccines in strict adherence to Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines, occupational health regulations, and hospital protocols.
Oversee and execute critical duties that include analyzing market trends to identify opportunities, developing strategic plans to enhance organizational performance, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, optimize resource allocation, and drive innovation across departments. Prepare comprehensive reports to present findings to senior leadership, facilitating data-driven decision-making and long-term growth initiatives. Additionally, manage stakeholder relationships to foster partnerships, negotiate contracts, and align business objectives with evolving market demands.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise immunization initiatives targeting school-aged children across hospital departments and designated outreach locations.
Collaborate with educational institutions, parents or guardians, and public health authorities to synchronize vaccination timelines and secure necessary consent.
Deliver vaccinations in a manner that is considerate of children’s needs, suitable for their developmental stage, and strictly adheres to safety protocols.
Responsibilities include supervising cold chain operations, ensuring proper vaccine storage, maintaining correct handling procedures, and overseeing accountability measures throughout the process.
Oversee the tracking of vaccine distribution, administration rates, wastage levels, and any Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEF) to ensure program effectiveness and safety.
Maintain precise records, generate comprehensive reports, and ensure diligent follow-up regarding all vaccination activities.
Oversee and coordinate employee vaccination initiatives in partnership with Human Resources and Occupational Health teams.
Ensure adherence to recommended staff immunization protocols as outlined by Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines.
Oversee the management and security of confidential employee vaccination records and generate related reports as required.
Facilitate pre-employment, routine, and outbreak-driven staff vaccination programs.
Deliver comprehensive vaccine education and counseling sessions to employees and relevant stakeholders as necessary.
Maintain rigorous compliance with child safeguarding policies throughout all vaccination activities conducted on school premises.
Ensure that all participants provide informed consent before any vaccination procedures commence.
Maintain the highest standards of privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety throughout the vaccine administration process.
Investigate and address vaccination-related incidents, adverse events following immunization (Aegis), and safeguarding issues as they arise.
Collaborate with the Ministry of Health, county health authorities, educational institutions, and internal teams to advance immunization programs.
Craft detailed compliance, performance, and regulatory reports specifically focused on vaccination programs.
Assist in coordinating audits, inspections, and accreditation processes to ensure compliance with immunization service standards.
Person Specification
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field of Healthcare is required.
Holding a current, valid license issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya is essential.
Updated Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
ATLAS certification could enhance your application.
Three years of professional experience within a hospital environment is required.
Proficiency in hospital-based chronic care initiatives will be highly beneficial.
Accomplished interpersonal and communication abilities with a proven track record in fostering collaborative relationships and conveying information effectively.
