Plan University originated as the Vilify Institute of Agriculture in 1984, with its inaugural class of 200 students enrolling in a two-year Certificate Course in Agriculture and Home Economics in July 1987. By 2007, the Institute had successfully graduated 3,837 students and also accommodated numerous Master’s and PhD research scholars from other national institutions. On August 23, 2007, the Vilify Institute of Agriculture was elevated to a Constituent College of Kenyatta University, and in March 2013, it was granted a charter as an independent university. Strategically situated in Vilify Town, along the Mombasa-Malinda Highway in Kenya’s Coastal region, the University boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to deliver exceptional education in Tropical Agriculture, Tropical Medicine, Marine Sciences, and Education. Catering to high school graduates from, first-time university students, and advanced scholars alike, Plan University offers a comprehensive selection of academic programs. The institution comprises over five schools, providing diverse degree options across Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Health, and Education, supported by a team of highly qualified faculty members.
