A prominent telecommunications provider is seeking to hire a Trade Development Representative.

Job purpose

To prioritize in-store visits aimed at enhancing retailer awareness and improving SIM and Float performance, ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising standards at point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee and manage the core functions and tasks essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance within the assigned department or area of responsibility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward, resolve challenges, and achieve key milestones. Monitor progress through established metrics, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, fostering clear communication and ensuring cohesive execution of initiatives. Maintain a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, mitigating risks, and optimizing processes to support sustainable growth.

SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping – Responsible for strategically identifying and recruiting qualified Agents, with a focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Conduct regular visits to SOS and Agents in accordance with established route plans (beat plans) to ensure consistent call rates.

We equip SOS and Trash Agents with the necessary tools for seamless transactions at SSO and agent outlets while ensuring they are thoroughly trained on the associated processes.

Conduct AML (Anti-Money Laundering) training sessions and assessments for agents, with a focus on AML protocols and SSO (Single Sign-On) training for KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures as they pertain to SIM REG (Subscriber Identity Module Registration).

Float and stock management responsibilities include monitoring and rigorously enforcing the 1.5x stock rule for agents, while ensuring SOS maintain sufficient SIM card inventory to support seamless new registrations and activations.

Developing and upholding merchandising standards involves ensuring the availability of necessary merchandising materials at SOS and Agent outlets.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong academic foundation and relevant professional experience. The ideal applicant will possess the necessary educational credentials and hands-on expertise to contribute effectively to our team. Proficiency in specialized skills and a commitment to continuous learning are essential for success in this role. Prior to work experience in a similar capacity is highly desirable, ensuring the candidate can quickly adapt and deliver results.

A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required for this position.

Experience

With a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in sales and distribution roles within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or telecommunications sectors, you possess a solid foundation in driving revenue growth and managing key accounts.
