The hospitality industry client is recruiting a diligent and committed Kitchen Steward to reinforce back-of-house operations. This position entails upholding stringent cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, waste management, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations in a high-velocity five-star hospitality setting. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, physical stamina, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to perform efficiently under demanding hospitality standards.
Oversee and execute core duties that encompass a range of critical tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Promptly and efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation surfaces to meet hygiene standards.
Responsibilities include maintaining the correct handling, storage, and organization of all kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
Provide essential assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel in food preparation and other operational duties as assigned.
Responsible for handling waste materials in accordance with established hygiene and safety protocols to ensure a secure and compliant workplace environment.
Regularly inspect and maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep within designated garbage collection zones.
Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly inform supervisors when stock levels are running low.
Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment with precision, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and optimal efficiency at all times.
Adhere strictly to all regulations concerning food safety, health protocols, sanitation protocols, and workplace safety protocols.
Provide support in upholding cleanliness standards at conferences, banquets, and other large-scale gatherings.
Maintain adherence to the rigorous cleanliness and presentation benchmarks synonymous with five-star hospitality.
Respond to cleaning requests from kitchen and food & beverage teams with urgency and efficiency.
Facilitate the implementation of thorough cleaning schedules while ensuring ongoing upkeep of kitchen facilities.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least three years of professional experience in a relevant industry, proficiency in industry-standard software tools, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Prior experience managing projects or leading initiatives is preferred, as is familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in the relevant sector.
Hospitality professionals must possess a diploma or certificate in the field.
A qualification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a related discipline would be considered beneficial.
A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience as a Kitchen Steward in a hotel, restaurant, or other hospitality setting is required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience in a high-volume or luxury hospitality environment.
Proficiency in food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and hygiene standards is essential.
Proficient in the safe handling and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is required.
Capable of maintaining physical fitness and endurance to remain standing for extended periods throughout the workday.
Demonstrates exceptional ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting and convey information clearly and concisely to colleagues, stakeholders, and leadership.
