JOB PURPOSE
The Checker Clerk is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of all trucks to verify compliance with client-specific protocols. Additionally, the incumbent must oversee the process to ensure it is performed safely and efficiently, while confirming that all required documentation and data are accurate and aligned with the Business Unit’s objectives, along with any other tasks as directed by management.
Oversee a range of critical duties and responsibilities integral to the role, including but not limited to strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify objectives, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Manage project timelines, monitor progress, and deliver measurable outcomes while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability. Conduct thorough evaluations to identify and assess health and safety risks affecting drivers, including those employed by the company as well as subcontracted personnel, and implement measures to mitigate or eliminate these hazards.
Consistently maintain a work environment that prioritizes safety, security, cleanliness, and fairness at all times.
To guarantee adherence to established guidelines, the incumbent must familiarize themselves with and strictly follow all site-specific rules and regulations.
Ensure full safety compliance for all drivers—both those within your own fleet and subcontracted personnel at KBL—by strictly enforcing PPE requirements and verifying consistent adherence to established protocols.
Upon inspection, ensure that all goods are meticulously arranged in accordance with the truck’s layout and securely placed on a sturdy wooden pallet prior to loading.
Responsibilities include accurately tallying and reconciling the quantity of packages designated for loading onto each truck to ensure alignment with shipping documentation.
Verify that the truck is securely sealed prior to departure to maintain cargo integrity and safety standards.
Promptly bring any arising issues to the attention of the on-duty truck operator or the Transport Lead.
Accurate loading of all trucks according to specified order quantities is ensured.
Oversee the loading and unloading operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Ensure the driver receives all necessary documentation, including the ERN, GRN, and the Hauler Copy.
All drivers are required to submit their POD’s within the designated deadlines, with any significant discrepancies or issues promptly reported and documented.
Ensure that any defective items, including shots and breakages, are excluded from being loaded onto the truck.
Establishes structured feedback mechanisms for both company-employed and subcontracted drivers, fostering a collaborative environment that drives operational enhancements.
Our role involves providing support to the driver supervision team, ensuring that drivers promptly facilitate the loading operations and efficiently manage truck queues and dock assignments to facilitate immediate access to the NCD loading and offloading bays when required.
Capable of making timely decisions under pressure, you will communicate any client-related delays in product loading or empty offloading with clarity and precision.
Maintain accurate records of daily work-related data to ensure comprehensive documentation and effective tracking.
Verify that all merchandise is securely and properly arranged within the delivery vehicles and that the cargo is appropriately sealed for transit.
Consistently verify that cartons and pallets meet specified standards and are free from any damage.
Execute directives while strategically aligning tasks with production and shipping timelines to ensure operational efficiency.
Applicants must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or higher in a pertinent field, supplemented by a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work. Teamwork and leadership capabilities are also required to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
The role requires a high school diploma or its equivalent in secondary education as the foundational educational qualification.

Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and basic office software is required. A diploma or certificate in logistics, freight forwarding, purchasing, or supply chain management is highly desirable.
