IT Support Technician

Job Description
Onfon Media Ltd is one of the leading VAS providers in the Telecommunications and ICT sectors in the Country and in East Africa. We aim to be the best service provider in the ICT Sector and in line with this, we are currently looking for high caliber staff to fill the above position . Key Duties and Responsibilities
Take ownership of client issues reported and ensuring the same are satisfactorily resolved
Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to the system and networks with a view to improving the system and lowering down times and customer complains
Development of basic system applications/interfaces and carry out set ups
Following standard procedures for escalating unresolved issues
Provide prompt reports and feedback to clients and concerned staff
Maintain proper records of issues at hand and closed
Skills and Competencies
Basic programming skills in Php, jQuery, Python, Java etc.
Process basic skills in networks and networking. Must be conversant with have knowledge to setup and troubleshoot LANs or Wi-Fi networks.
Basic understanding of database i.e. MySQL, MSSQL.
Can comfortably work with UNIX or Linux systems.
Requirements
The incumbent must at least possess the following:
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex processes and technology related issues.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a work environment with highly diverse cultures, systems and procedures
Ability to work independently, be flexible and meet time lines
Excellent organizational skills
BSc.  in IT, Computer Science, BIT or an equivalent.
A three (3) years minimum experience
Having experience in coding/programming will be an added advantage
