Founded in 1972 by agricultural cooperatives from Bologna and the visionary leadership of Giovanni Berman and Father Angelo Havana, CEA – The Seed of Solidarity is a non-governmental organization with a half-century track record of combating hunger and poverty worldwide.
For fifty years, CEA has empowered the world’s most vulnerable communities to achieve food self-sufficiency while upholding fundamental rights such as education, dignified work, gender equality, and the protection of children.
CEA’s mission is to foster sustainable development by designing and implementing initiatives that enhance local prosperity, strengthen resilience to climate change, and stimulate active citizen participation—ensuring communities lead their own progress.
