Oversee the execution of regional advocacy initiatives in Africa, guaranteeing that operational plans and priorities are met punctually and within allocated financial constraints.
Monitor, evaluate, and provide strategic guidance on emerging trends, advocacy initiatives, and policy developments within the African Union (AU) and Regional Economic Communities (RCS), with a focused emphasis on the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) as well as the African Regional Human Rights System—including the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACH PR), the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Anchor), and the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
Collaborate closely with researchers and campaigners in African regional offices to embed effective advocacy messaging and strategies within research initiatives and campaign development processes and deliverables.
Spearhead Amnesty International’s engagement and initiatives during ACH PR sessions and additional pertinent regional forums, ensuring cohesive representation and strategic involvement.
Facilitate coordination between regional and global advocacy initiatives, while supporting the execution of unified strategies across both regional and international platforms.
Develop and nurture ongoing communications and productive collaborations with pertinent stakeholders across the African Union (AU) and other relevant African intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and institutions.
Collaborate effectively with civil society organizations and activists at local, national, regional, and international levels, fostering both formal partnerships and informal coalitions to achieve shared objectives.
