Our organization, a well-established mid-sized law firm headquartered in Nairobi and distinguished for its proficiency in commercial and real estate law, is actively seeking a skilled and driven Advocate to strengthen its growing legal practice. The successful applicant will play a key role in assisting the firm with conveyancing assignments, commercial deals, and the provision of strategic legal counsel.

Oversee and execute essential duties and tasks as part of the core responsibilities associated with this position. Ensure all assigned projects are completed efficiently, adhering to established timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless communication and alignment on objectives. Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and milestones achieved. Maintain meticulous documentation and reporting to support data-driven decision-making. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the team.

Responsible for managing conveyancing processes from initial engagement to finalization, ensuring all procedural steps are executed accurately and efficiently.

Prepare, review, and finalize property and conveyancing documentation.

Draft sale agreements, leases, transfers, securities documentation, and closing documents with precision and adherence to legal standards.

Perform comprehensive legal due diligence evaluations in connection with real estate transactions.

Ensure adherence to land laws and regulations throughout property registration procedures.

Coordinate with land registries, survey offices, and the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning to facilitate necessary approvals and registrations.

Prepare, examine, and finalize commercial agreements and transactional paperwork to ensure legal compliance and operational alignment.

Deliver expert legal counsel and advisory services pertaining to commercial and real estate transactions.

Verify that every transaction complies strictly with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Cultivate and sustain professional connections with clients as well as key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Collaborate with lenders, valuers, estate agents, and surveyors to facilitate seamless transaction completion.

Provide prompt legal counsel and periodic progress reports to clients.

Handle all other duties assigned by the firm as required.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill this critical role, and applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar position, alongside a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong proficiency in project management, data analysis, and strategic planning is essential, along with excellent communication and leadership skills. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is required, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is a must. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to compliance standards.

A minimum of two years’ post-admission experience in a high-volume legal practice setting is required.

A valid, current practicing certificate must be held.

Holders of an upper second-class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited university will be considered.

Demonstrated proficiency across critical professional capabilities is essential, with a strong emphasis on key competencies such as analytical thinking, effective communication, and collaborative problem-solving. Adaptability to evolving priorities and a commitment to continuous learning are also vital.
