The primary objective of this role is to fulfill the outlined responsibilities and objectives as specified in the job advertisement. The successful applicant will be expected to perform the essential duties and meet the performance standards set forth in the position’s requirements.

The Lead Systems Integrator & Developer oversees the complete implementation and operational reliability of the organization’s critical data integrations. This position involves designing and leading the development of the data infrastructure for an expanding, multi-campus international school network, serving as the principal architect of the institution’s integration backbone. The role includes constructing and sustaining automated data flows that link HR, MIS, Library, and Google Workspace platforms. Responsibilities encompass ownership of the entire delivery lifecycle—from engaging with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, through system architecture, development, and deployment, and extending to continuous monitoring and documentation.

Applicants must hold an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as education, psychology, or social sciences, and possess a minimum of three years of hands-on experience within an academic or research-oriented setting. Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies is essential, along with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Prior involvement in curriculum development, assessment design, or educational policy initiatives is highly desirable.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative discipline is required.

A minimum of three years of professional experience in a junior or middle-level developer capacity is required.

Experienced in designing and sustaining production-ready Python scripts that automate data synchronization across enterprise platforms.

Designing and managing Zero-Touch onboarding and offboarding workflows between an

MIS and Directory Services expertise, specifically with Google Workspace or comparable platforms, is required.

Successfully designed, developed, and deployed API-driven integration bridges to automate previously manual business processes, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing dependency on human intervention.

Proven track record in overseeing the complete project lifecycle, including engaging with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, followed by deployment, ongoing monitoring, and delivering comprehensive documentation.

Proven expertise in establishing structured logging practices, configuring alerting mechanisms, and implementing foundational observability solutions for unattended scheduled jobs within production environments.

Added Advantage

Post-graduate credentials in Data Engineering or Cloud Architecture are required, such as the Google Professional Data Engineer or AWS Certified Data Analytics certifications.

Professional credentials encompassing Power BI, Advanced Data Analytics, or Google Workspace are highly valued.

Proficiency in Kenya’s Data Protection Act of 2019 is required.

Professional experience in K-12 educational environments or familiarity with School Management Information Systems (MIS) is required.

Proficiency in managing data within multi-campus or multi-entity environments, with a demonstrated ability to consolidate and reconcile information spanning organizational or geographic divisions, is essential.

Experienced in transitioning legacy on-premise scripts to modern serverless or containerized cloud-based architectures.

Seeking a seasoned professional with prior leadership or senior-level experience, adept at overseeing technical documentation, enforcing code standards, and facilitating knowledge transfer within a small team.

Proficient in utilizing Integrated Library Systems (ILS) platforms, specifically Doha, with expertise in REST API integration for seamless patron and catalog management.
