JOB PURPOSE

The role entails meticulously and efficiently preparing, dispensing, and managing medication inventory across all pharmacy units at Premier Hospital, including the First Floor Pharmacy, Chemotherapy Section, Main Pharmacy, and Main Store. This position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, precision in all tasks, collaborative teamwork, and full compliance with regulatory standards to uphold the highest levels of patient care and medication safety.

The role encompasses a comprehensive range of duties and responsibilities critical to the position. Key tasks include managing daily operations, overseeing team performance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires the development and implementation of strategic plans to enhance productivity and efficiency across departments. Collaboration with senior leadership to drive organizational goals and fostering a positive work environment are also essential aspects of this role.

Providing prescriptions and comprehensive patient assistance are central to this role, ensuring individuals receive accurate medication and clear guidance. The position involves managing dispensing tasks efficiently while offering empathetic support to enhance patient understanding and compliance with treatment plans. Accurately prepare and dispense medications in strict accordance with prescribed orders to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare standards.

Offer guidance to patients regarding appropriate medication dosage, potential side effects, and correct usage.

Provide support to clinical teams by addressing inquiries regarding medications and conducting prescription evaluations.

Oversee the preparation and distribution of medications for both outpatient and inpatient services from the First Floor Pharmacy.

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the chemotherapy section, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care, managing treatment schedules, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oncology nursing, with proficiency in chemotherapy administration and patient education. Additionally, they must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Certification in chemotherapy administration and a current nursing license are required.

Under the guidance of established safety protocols, support the accurate preparation, proper labeling, and precise dispensing of chemotherapy medications with meticulous attention to detail.

Ensure adherence to oncology-specific protocols and standards for protective equipment.

Work collaboratively with the oncology team to ensure accurate verification of chemotherapy prescriptions and proper dosing.

Responsible for overseeing the accurate tracking, organization, and optimization of inventory levels to ensure product availability and minimize excess stock, while maintaining precise records of stock movements and levels.

Oversee pharmaceutical inventory management for multiple dispensing pharmacies, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient supply chain operations.

Ensure stock rotation is conducted in a timely manner, prevent any items from expiring, and uphold accurate inventory records at all times.

Oversee the full scope of daily pharmacy operations to ensure seamless, efficient, and compliant functioning of all processes and workflows.

Compile and finalize medication orders for inpatients across general wards and specialized units.

Guarantee the secure storage and proper management of controlled substances to maintain compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.

Attend ward rounds as necessary to facilitate medication-related interventions.

Ensure precise management of prescription records, inventory tracking, and patient transaction documentation.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of five years of experience in software development is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is mandatory. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are necessary. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams are imperative. Knowledge of agile methodologies and software development best practices is highly desirable. Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is preferred.

A qualification in Pharmacy obtained through a Diploma program is required.

Requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience, with at least one year gained in a high-volume hospital environment.

Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
