The Lead Systems Integrator & Developer oversees the complete development and operational reliability of the organization’s critical data integrations. This position involves designing and managing the data infrastructure for an expanding, multi-campus international school network, serving as the principal architect behind the school’s integration backbone. The role includes building and sustaining automated data flows that interconnect HR, MIS, Library, and Google Workspace platforms. Responsibilities span the entire delivery lifecycle—from engaging with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, through architectural planning, development, and deployment, and extending to continuous monitoring and comprehensive documentation.

Applicants must possess a relevant academic qualification and professional experience in the specified field to be considered for this position. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, with preference given to candidates holding advanced degrees or specialized certifications. Prior to work experience in a similar role, ideally spanning several years, is essential, as is a demonstrated track record of achieving measurable outcomes in previous positions.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative discipline is required.

A minimum of three years of experience in a junior or mid-level developer position is required.

Accomplished in designing, implementing, and sustaining production-ready Python scripts to enable seamless, automated data synchronization across enterprise-level platforms.

Experience in designing and overseeing Zero-Touch onboarding and offboarding workflows between an

MIS and Directory Services, including expertise in Google Workspace or equivalent platforms, are required for this role.

Accomplished in designing, constructing, and deploying API-driven integration solutions to streamline previously manual business workflows.

Proven expertise in end-to-end project leadership, encompassing initial requirements’ collection with non-technical stakeholders, seamless implementation, continuous performance monitoring, and final documentation delivery.

Proven ability to establish structured logging frameworks, configure alerting mechanisms, and implement foundational observability solutions for automated scheduled jobs operating in production environments.

Post-graduate qualifications, such as certifications in Data Engineering or Cloud Architecture (for example, the Google Professional Data Engineer credential or the AWS Certified Data Analytics designation), are required.

Professional qualifications in Microsoft Power BI, Advanced Data Analytics, or Google Workspace are required.

Familiarity with Kenya’s Data Protection Act of 2019 is required.

Professional experience in the K-12 education sector or familiarity with School Management Information Systems (MIS) is required.

Proven expertise in managing data within multi-campus or multi-entity environments, ensuring accurate consolidation and reconciliation of information across diverse organizational or geographic divisions.

Proven expertise in transitioning on-premise legacy scripts to modern cloud architectures, including serverless and containerized environments.

Seeking a candidate with prior leadership experience in a Lead or Senior role, responsible for overseeing technical documentation, enforcing code standards, and facilitating knowledge transfer within a small team.

Proficient in utilizing Integrated Library Systems (ILS) platforms, specifically Doha, with expertise in REST API integration for streamlined patron and catalogue management.
