The Radiographer will conduct precise, secure, and superior diagnostic imaging procedures to facilitate clinical diagnosis and treatment, adhering to Safe Care standards, radiation safety regulations, and national quality management systems. Oversee a comprehensive array of critical duties encompassing project management, team leadership, and strategic planning to drive organizational objectives forward. Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-ray, Ultrasound, CT-Scan, and other radiological examinations, adhering to the established scope of practice.
Prior to conducting imaging procedures, verify accurate patient identification, as well as proper preparation, positioning, and instruction to ensure optimal outcomes.
Ensure rigorous adherence to radiation protection protocols and safety measures to significantly reduce patient and staff exposure levels.
Ensure all imaging requests are reviewed for appropriateness and clinical justification prior to the examination.
Deliver exceptional diagnostic imaging services with a strong emphasis on patient comfort and safety.
Responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of radiology equipment while ensuring any malfunctions are identified and reported without delay to facilitate corrective measures.
Perform routine quality control inspections and engage in preventive maintenance initiatives to uphold operational standards and equipment reliability.
Ensure precise documentation of imaging procedures and maintain accurate patient records within RIS/EMR systems.
Ensure the secure handling, proper storage, and compliant disposal of radiographic materials when necessary.
Enforce and maintain rigorous Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols throughout the imaging department.
Engage in quality enhancement projects, clinical evaluation processes, and Safe Care evaluations to uphold and advance healthcare standards and practices.
Promptly escalate critical or urgent findings to the requesting clinician in accordance with established policies.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and licensing standards set forth by the radiation authority.
Consistently maintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality, professional conduct, ethical guidelines, and respectful delivery of patient care at all times.
We are seeking candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of professional experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software is essential, as is the ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. A recognized institution must award a degree or diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or Medical Imaging Sciences.
A Higher Diploma in Radiography and Imaging would provide an additional competitive edge.
A current and active practicing license issued by the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority is required.
A minimum of two years of professional experience within a hospital environment or an accredited diagnostic imaging facility is required.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of radiation safety principles, imaging protocols, and quality management systems.
Demonstrates strong expertise in Radiology Information Systems and Electronic Medical Records.
Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and ensures adherence to high image quality standards.
Proficient in delivering clear, compassionate communication and providing exceptional patient care are essential.
