Job Description
This is the graduate entry level. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
Maintaining primary books of accounts and entering primary data to the accounting system;
Checking and balancing petty cashbook;
Maintaining debtors, creditors and general ledger;
Posting budgetary commitments and prepare periodic expenditure returns;
Maintaining accounting records relating to collaborative projects/research grants;
Developing budget utilization reports;
Undertaking financial/ accounting management;
Maintaining the Fixed Assets register;
Implementing financial recommendations from audits; and
Billing and revenue collection.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), Business Management (Accounting/Finance Option), Economics, or equivalent from a recognized university;
CPA Part I or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Membership of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and in good standing;
Proficiency in computer applications; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
