Oversee the teams responsible for Sea Export operations originating from Kenya.

Ensure all team members are consistently updated on changes and developments while facilitating the required internal coordination and alignment of objectives.

Conduct comprehensive assessments of subordinate performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Enhance employee competencies through targeted skill development initiatives.

Establish standardized protocols to ensure seamless case transfer procedures during organizational restructuring within the team.

Developing the Middle Office organization entails establishing its expertise, resources, and standardized processes to ensure operational excellence.

To align the organization, expertise, and available resources with the objectives set by the Manager.

Regularly assess the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to verify its alignment with customer service standards.

Oversee the execution of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by the Maintenance Operations (MO) team, conduct both internal and external quality audits, and ensure ongoing alignment with the approved action plan through continuous monitoring.

Oversee and administer operational activities, ensuring seamless coordination and meticulous monitoring throughout all processes.

Ensure the delivery of exceptional service quality to all clients, meticulously assessing and maintaining high standards throughout all interactions and transactions.

We are responsible for achieving the agreed contractual KPIs with clients as well as fulfilling our internal performance metrics.

To execute all necessary measures for reducing disbursement exposure, including adherence to compliance classification protocols, accurate posting of billing and expenses to relevant files, and proactive risk management—with a specific emphasis on debit-related risks.

Collaborate with the Front Office and Back Office teams, including Legal and Insurance, to manage the customer disputes process effectively. Initiate and execute measures aimed at eliminating recurring root causes of disputes.

Ensure that all necessary insurance coverage for our services—whether self-procured or through contracted providers—is securely established in collaboration with the Back-Office support (Insurance) team.

Provide updates to management regarding project status, key metrics, and any critical issues that arise, ensuring transparency and facilitating informed decision-making.

To analyze and prioritize key customers based on factors such as cargo type, shipment volumes, financial stability, and account significance, then establish tailored operational monitoring frameworks as required.

Gather and assess risk-related information pertinent to operations—such as customs challenges—and compile a monthly report for the Manager.

Compile a monthly performance report detailing departmental achievements and future projections, considering relevant market dynamics such as customer trends and competitive landscapes, for submission to the Manager.

Profile

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Ideal applicants will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, and a solid understanding of business principles. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, preparing reports, assisting in budget development, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to collaborate across departments to drive organizational success.

A relevant qualification in Clearing & Freight Forwarding or a closely associated discipline is required.

With over five years of managerial experience in a high-volume Customs and Freight (C & F) company, specializing in Sea Export operations, you bring a proven track record of overseeing complex logistics processes and ensuring seamless international trade compliance. Your expertise in managing high-pressure environments, coordinating cross-functional teams, and optimizing supply chain efficiency will drive operational excellence in this role.
