Job Purpose

The Medical Officer will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients while collaborating in multidisciplinary patient management initiatives. Additionally, they will actively support teaching and training programs and play a key role in advancing the hospital’s commitment to sustainable, high-quality holistic healthcare services.

Oversee and execute core duties associated with the position, including managing daily operations, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement best practices. Monitor performance metrics to assess progress toward goals and provide data-driven recommendations for optimization. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies while fostering a culture of accountability and professional development. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries with clarity and strategic insight.

Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and specialized care environments.

Formulate and execute suitable treatment plans that align with established clinical guidelines and evidence-based best practices.

Conduct medical procedures that fall within the defined scope of practice and your professional competence.

Engage in ward rounds, conduct clinical audits, participate in mortality and morbidity reviews, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure the precision and promptness of patient records and clinical documentation at all times.

Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient management outcomes.

Deliver health education and counseling services to patients and their families.

Engage in assigned emergency call responsibilities, outreach initiatives, and community health projects, contributing to critical public health efforts and emergency response operations as required.

Provide guidance and assistance to medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees by facilitating their training and mentorship.

Drive advancements in research, innovation, and evidence-based clinical methodologies to enhance healthcare delivery and outcomes.

Maintain unwavering compliance with professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards that govern the practice of medicine.

Holders of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited academic institution are required.

Registered and licensed with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

A current, active professional license in good standing is required.

Interns must successfully complete a structured training program to fulfill their internship requirements.

At least one year of clinical experience beyond the internship stage will be considered favorable.

Professional certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) would be considered advantageous.
