Managing the Clinic’s daily operations and activities is a key responsibility of this role.
The Clinic’s annual budget, work plan, and procurement plan will be developed and prepared as part of the role’s responsibilities.
Performing necessary minor surgical procedures as needed constitutes a key responsibility of this role.
Responsible for verifying that employees and their dependents receive accurate medical care by gathering comprehensive patient histories, performing thorough examinations, formulating precise diagnoses, and suggesting suitable treatment options.
Staff are directed to appropriate care facilities to guarantee dependents and employees receive the necessary treatment and support.
Monitoring and/or coordinating the dispensing of prescribed medications to ensure strict adherence to established standards and procedures.
Ensuring the efficient and responsible use of medical supplies to prevent loss, damage, or unnecessary wastage of the Institute’s resources.
Responsible for validating received goods by confirming invoices accurately reflect the quantities and values delivered, thereby ensuring proper verification and approval of payments.
Responsibilities include evaluating and authorizing requisitions for pharmaceuticals, laboratory reagents, and other essential medical supplies to ensure uninterrupted clinical operations.
Reviewing and authorizing medical claims and reimbursement documents, as well as confirming their accuracy, constitutes a key responsibility of the position.
Planning and educating staff on diverse health topics in collaboration with other pertinent government bodies to bolster employee awareness.
Providing guidance and support to staff regarding health-related concerns to prevent issues from affecting workplace productivity and environment.
Convene health assessments, including evaluations of the prevalence of alcohol, drug, and substance abuse, to determine the scope among employees and guide subsequent interventions.
Responsible for the accurate management and disposal of hazardous waste materials to prevent environmental contamination and reduce the risk of accidents.
Compiling clinical reports in strict adherence to the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health;
Supervising and managing the scheduling of staff members’ shifts at the Clinic is a key responsibility.
Person Specifications
To qualify for appointment to this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
A recognized institution must award a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or an equivalent qualification.
A recognized educational institution must have awarded a minimum GCSE grade of C+ (or its equivalent).
Registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya, the incumbent holds a valid license to practice as a Clinical Officer in Kenya.
A current, active professional license issued by the Council on Chiropractic (COC) is mandatory.
A certificate in computer applications is required for this position.
Ensure full compliance with all stipulations outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
