Position Summary

The Field Merchandising Representative (FMR) will report to the Team Leader of Merchandising and will execute merchandising tasks, uphold shelf presence, guarantee stock availability, manage returns governance, and collect market intelligence across designated retail locations. Serving as the primary operational contact for the company in the field, the FMR plays a crucial role in maintaining brand standards and operational excellence within the trade environment.

Key Responsibilities & Obligations:
Candidates will be tasked with overseeing a range of operational, administrative, and strategic functions integral to the organization’s objectives. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and visually appealing product merchandising and displays throughout designated retail locations.

Ensure adherence to established shelf visibility and execution standards as agreed upon.

Organize merchandise in strict accordance with approved nanograms and established merchandising standards to ensure optimal product presentation and consistency.

Ensure all products are maintained in a clean state, properly arranged, fully visible, and accurately positioned on the shelves.

Ensure that point-of-sale systems and promotional materials are consistently displayed and maintained in optimal condition.

Track competitor presence, pricing strategies, and inventory adjustments on shelves.

Responsible for overseeing stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory counts, and maintaining optimal product rotation to minimize waste and meet demand. Tracks supply levels, coordinates with procurement teams to replenish stock as needed, and verifies the proper sequencing of incoming and outgoing goods to adhere to expiration dates and organizational standards. Analyzes inventory data to identify trends, prevent overstocking or shortages, and enhance overall efficiency in the supply chain process.

Diligently track inventory levels and elevate any instances of insufficient stock to the appropriate stakeholders without delay.

Maintain strict adherence to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) stock rotation protocols to ensure efficient inventory management.

Proactively monitor inventory levels to detect products approaching expiration dates, initiating prompt escalation procedures as required.

Dispose of any stock that is damaged or past its expiration date from the shelves, adhering to established company protocols.

Manage outlet stock levels by analyzing and responding to movement trends to ensure optimal inventory levels.

Handles oversight of returns processes and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting standards.

Ensure meticulous documentation of all returned outlets, verifying each transaction with precision and thoroughness.

Verify that Goods Return Notes (GRNs) are accurately completed, including all necessary supporting documentation.

Physically inspect all returned items prior to arranging their collection to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Promptly report any returns that appear suspicious or lack clear justification without delay.

Facilitate the reconciliation and accountability frameworks essential to returns management operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols throughout the process.

Document all merchandising activities in the field utilizing sanctioned systems and reporting tools.

Prepare and deliver accurate merchandising, stock, attendance, and market intelligence reports in a timely manner.

Perform field audits, verification activities, and operational investigations as assigned to ensure compliance and operational integrity.

Ensure adherence to company operational policies, hygiene protocols, and product handling standards.

We seek candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the field, preferably within a similar industry. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, though advanced degrees may be advantageous. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-specific software, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams are essential. Prior experience in project management or leadership roles is highly valued. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to convey complex information clearly. Minimum GCSE Certificate with a minimum grade of C (plain) or its equivalent.
