Finance employees are tasked with receiving, recording, tracking, and establishing internal controls to protect sacred funds—donated in confidence in accordance with God’s commandments—for the Church’s religious mission under the guidance of senior ecclesiastical leaders. This role is an entry-level accounting position where the incumbent applies accounting principles to specialized records and reports, assisting in maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger and generating basic financial reports.
Oversee daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and address operational challenges. Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance productivity. Delegate responsibilities effectively to team members, fostering accountability and professional growth. Maintain compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols. Compiling journal entries and performing necessary adjustments are essential duties associated with this role.
Initiating the maintenance of general ledger files, performing account reconciliations, conducting reviews, and resolving outstanding ledger items are key responsibilities of this role.
Responsible for analyzing expenditures in comparison to budgeted allocations, performing required reconciliations, conducting detailed investigations into discrepancies, and recording correcting entries as needed.
Prepares comprehensive financial estimates and detailed expense reports as part of the financial planning process.
Responsible for reviewing project accounts to ensure adherence to established policies, while also communicating with relevant stakeholders regarding the progress and status of these initiatives.
Assisting in the development and guidance of priesthood leaders and junior accounting staff constitutes a key responsibility.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates must possess at least five years of professional experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on full-stack development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is essential, alongside expertise in frameworks like React, Angular, or Node.js. Knowledge of databases, including SQL and NoSQL, and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure are also mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering scalable solutions in fast-paced environments. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies is highly preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management—with a specialization in financial accounting—is required.
Professional certification and active membership in recognized accounting or auditing organizations, such as CPA(K), ARCA, or CISA, are required.
Professionals in this role are expected to have a thorough comprehension of the accountant code of conduct and exhibit a solid foundation in financial and accounting theory, along with familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.
Requires at least four to six years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional setting.

Requires proficiency in computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with significant hands-on experience. Familiarity with Oracle or People soft systems is considered a valuable asset.
