Serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Grade ADAM 1, this executive role entails providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to guide the organization toward achieving its long-term objectives. The position requires extensive experience in executive management, a proven track record in driving organizational growth, and exceptional decision-making capabilities. Key responsibilities include setting the vision and direction of the company, ensuring financial sustainability, fostering innovation, and cultivating strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, the Chief Executive Officer will oversee senior leadership teams, implement corporate governance standards, and champion sustainable business practices while upholding the highest ethical standards.

The remuneration package for this position ranges from KSS. 260,000 to Kshs. 460,000 per month.

This position is appointed for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three-year term.

The Chief Executive Officer will oversee and lead all operational, strategic, and administrative functions of the organization, ensuring alignment with the board of directors’ vision and stakeholder expectations. Key responsibilities include formulating and executing long-term business strategies, optimizing organizational performance, and cultivating a high-performance culture. Additionally, the CEO will collaborate closely with senior leadership to refine policies, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver sustainable value to shareholders and the broader community.

The annual business plans for the Agency are developed and presented for approval to the Board.

The Agency must maintain a robust management framework that incorporates comprehensive succession planning to ensure seamless operational continuity and leadership stability.

Ensuring all Board papers are meticulously prepared, relevant, and distributed to members promptly.

Act as the intermediary between the Board and Management, facilitating clear and effective communication between both parties.

The Agency’s objectives are accomplished through dedicated efforts and strategic initiatives that ensure progress and success in all endeavors.

Developing and implementing robust administrative frameworks, streamlined processes, and efficient systems to ensure optimal organizational functionality.

Delivering consistent, detailed, and timely updates to the Board regarding critical technical, financial, and administrative issues is essential.

Effective stakeholder relations and the strengthening of the Agency’s corporate reputation are key priorities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders while elevating the Agency’s public perception are essential responsibilities.

Executing the directives issued by the Board entails carrying out all resolutions and strategic plans approved by the governing body, ensuring adherence to corporate governance standards, and facilitating seamless operational alignment with organizational objectives. This role involves translating high-level decisions into actionable initiatives, coordinating with relevant departments to implement approved policies, and providing progress reports to the Board to demonstrate accountability and facilitate informed oversight.

Day-to-day operations of the Agency are overseen with a focus on executing policies and programs related to anti-doping initiatives, encompassing all relevant tasks and responsibilities.

Foster education and awareness initiatives to enhance understanding and promote informed decision-making across relevant stakeholders.

Conduct thorough research to gather and analyze relevant data and information.

Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of systems, software, or products. Identify defects, validate fixes, and verify compliance with specified requirements through systematic evaluation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and enhance overall quality assurance processes. Prepare detailed test plans, cases, and reports documenting findings and track resolution progress. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging testing methodologies to continually refine testing strategies. Possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant testing tools and frameworks.

Conduct thorough and meticulous investigations to uncover critical information, identify root causes, and resolve complex issues with precision and efficiency. Deliver comprehensive findings through detailed reports and presentations, ensuring clarity and actionable insights for stakeholders. Maintain strict adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards throughout all investigative processes, safeguarding confidentiality and integrity at every stage. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, analyze patterns, and synthesize information into coherent conclusions that drive informed decision-making.

Results Management encompasses the systematic tracking, analysis, and reporting of performance metrics to ensure organizational objectives are met. This role involves overseeing key performance indicators, evaluating progress against targets, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Additionally, it requires maintaining accurate records, generating insights from data, and presenting findings to stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data interpretation are essential, along with the ability to communicate results clearly and effectively.

Administrative support is provided to the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee, ensuring efficient coordination and management of committee operations. This role involves organizing documentation, scheduling meetings, and facilitating communication between committee members and stakeholders. Additionally, it requires maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and assisting with compliance-related administrative tasks to support the committee’s decision-making processes.

The formulation, development, and implementation of the Agency’s strategic plan, along with any additional plans necessary to execute the Agency’s mandate, are required.

The role involves overseeing the efficient organization and coordination of staff activities, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to established procedures. This includes managing team schedules, delegating responsibilities, and fostering a productive work environment while maintaining clear communication channels. The position requires the ability to prioritize tasks, monitor performance, and address any operational challenges to support overall team success.

Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Board as necessary.

The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the Secretary to the Board, ensuring accurate documentation and seamless communication of all board proceedings and decisions.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the position. A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in the specified field is essential, along with a minimum of [X] years of proven experience in a comparable role. Requires a postgraduate qualification from an accredited institution, complemented by a minimum of five years of professional experience within the sports sector or administrative domain.

Possesses expertise and hands-on experience in anti-doping regulations and procedures.

Ensures compliance with the stipulations outlined in Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
