Our client, a prominent telecommunications provider, is actively seeking to appoint a Trade Development Representative.

To prioritize in-person channel visits, enhancing retailer awareness and improving SIMs and Float performance while ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising at the point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across all assigned functions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and drive sustainable growth. Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical guidelines while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous innovation. Prepare detailed reports, analyze performance metrics, and present actionable insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Mentor and develop team members, fostering professional growth and fostering a high-performance work environment.

Proactively oversee the identification, recruitment, and strategic mapping of Agents, with a primary focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Regularly conduct visits to SOS and Agents by following the agreed route plans (beat plans).

Provide essential business tools necessary for seamless transactions at SSO and agent outlets, ensuring agents are fully equipped for their roles. Offer comprehensive training to SOS and Trash Agents on operational processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Conduct AML training sessions and assess agents’ understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols, while also educating them on the Know Your Customer (KYC) process as it pertains to SIM REG compliance.

Float and stock management, along with sales oversight, involve closely tracking inventory levels and ensuring adherence to the 1.5x stock rule for agents, while also guaranteeing that SOS maintain sufficient SIM stock for seamless new registrations and activations.

Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of merchandising materials at SOS and Agent outlets.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong academic foundation and relevant professional experience to join our team. The ideal applicant will possess the necessary educational credentials and practical expertise to excel in this role.

A degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline, either at the diploma or bachelor’s level, is required.

Experience

With a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in sales and distribution within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or telecommunications (Telcos) sectors, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in driving revenue growth and optimizing distribution channels.
