Our client, a prominent telecommunications company, is seeking to hire an Activation Team Lead to oversee operational activities.

The position operates under the direct supervision of the Area Sales Manager.

Job purpose

To enhance retailer engagement through strategic channel visits, ensuring heightened awareness and improved performance metrics for SIMs and Float, while prioritizing visibility and merchandising excellence at point-of-sale locations for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing the planning, coordination, and supervision of [specific tasks, projects, or departmental functions]. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure timely project delivery within established budgets and deadlines. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to optimize operational efficiency and productivity. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and operational staff to facilitate clear communication and decision-making. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures to uphold compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce waste, and drive innovation. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth among team members.

Proactively oversee the identification, recruitment, and strategic mapping of Agents, with a primary focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Deliver calls to SOS and Agents consistently, adhering to predetermined route schedules (beat plans).

Provide essential transaction tools at SSO and agent outlets while ensuring SOS and Trash Agents are thoroughly trained on all operational processes.

Experts responsible for anti-money laundering initiatives will deliver training sessions to customer service representatives on AML protocols and to specialized support officers on KYC procedures as they pertain to SIM REG compliance.

Float and stock management, including coverage and sales, requires diligent monitoring and strict enforcement of the 1.5x stock rule for agents, guaranteeing that Subscriber Service Officers (SOS) maintain sufficient stock of SIMs to facilitate new registrations and activations seamlessly.

Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of merchandising materials at SOS and Agent outlets.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of three years of professional experience in a related industry is preferred. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements is a must. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Demonstrated leadership or project management experience is a significant advantage.

A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.

Experienced professionals with a successful track record in van sales or comparable sales positions are encouraged to apply.
