Job Purpose

The incumbent will process and manage all required documentation, customs entry permits, and customs entries promptly and accurately, ensuring seamless shipment movements. This role involves collaborating with multiple stakeholders, such as customers, sales managers, and government agencies, to streamline customs clearance in full adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities encompass a broad range of duties, including the oversight of key operational functions, strategic planning, and performance monitoring. The role demands proficiency in managing cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the position requires meticulous attention to detail in data analysis, reporting, and compliance with established policies and regulations. Collaborative interaction with stakeholders at all levels is essential to facilitate seamless execution of projects and initiatives.

The role involves managing customer applications and IDF, ensuring all necessary documents and permits are received and verified.

We will conduct a thorough review of air and sea manifests to verify their accuracy and completeness. This role involves meticulously tracking and confirming the details of shipments to maintain precision in our logistical records.

Container nomination and communication entails proactively submitting container details to the designated authorities prior to the vessel’s arrival at the Mombasa port.

Government permit applications include the registration of customs entries for all applicable regimes.

Tabulating customs charges and providing estimates to both internal teams and external partners are integral aspects of the customs operations role. This involves calculating applicable duties, taxes, and fees with precision and communicating these figures clearly to relevant stakeholders.

Oversee shipping line operations and manage associated documentation. Collaborate closely with shipping lines to obtain charges and secure delivery orders.

Ensuring adherence to ISO standards and industry-specific regulations represents a critical responsibility of this role. The position demands a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to implement compliant processes across all operational activities.

Ensure full adherence to the established data protection policy to safeguard sensitive information and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.

We seek a candidate with a strong educational foundation in a relevant field, ideally holding a degree from an accredited institution.
