As a Drilling TRS Crew Member, you will play a pivotal role in rig operations by supporting essential tubular running activities critical to well construction. This position involves operating mechanical and hydraulic TRS equipment, assisting with rig-up and rig-down procedures, and ensuring the safe handling of casing, tubing, and associated tools.
As a Drilling TRS Crew Member, your duties will encompass a range of responsibilities centered on assisting in drilling operations. You will be tasked with operating and maintaining drilling equipment to ensure efficient and safe execution of projects. Collaborating closely with the team, you will monitor drilling progress, perform routine inspections, and report any irregularities or potential hazards. Additionally, you will participate in equipment setup and teardown procedures, adhere to strict safety protocols, and comply with all operational guidelines. Proficiency in operating drilling machinery and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment are essential for success in this role.
Operating TRS equipment—including power tongs, elevators, slips, spiders, torque-turn systems, and hydraulic power units—in a manner that ensures safety and maintains professional standards.
Assisting in the assembly and disassembly of TRS equipment, which encompasses stabbing boards, power units, and tubular handling tools.
Demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue with the drill floor operator, clients, and subcontracted personnel, thereby promoting seamless coordination and adherence to safety protocols throughout operations.
Conducting routine troubleshooting, inspections, and minor maintenance tasks on TRS equipment prior to, during, and following operational activities ensures optimal functionality and reliability.
Maintaining adherence to all safety protocols, participating in rig safety meetings, and promptly reporting any hazards or operational concerns are essential responsibilities.
Responsibilities include preparing job documentation, compiling activity reports, and assisting with operational tasks as directed by the Operations Coordinator.
To excel in this position, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
Possesses a broad understanding of the oil and gas sector, with a preference for candidates who have prior field experience in TRS or drilling operations.
Demonstrates a high level of mechanical proficiency and the capability to safely and accurately use mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in collaborating and communicating with rig crews, supervisors, and clients, even in high-pressure situations.
A two-year technical degree or an equivalent blend of technical training and hands-on field experience is required.
Possess exceptional problem-solving capabilities along with a strong aptitude for adhering to established procedures, conducting thorough equipment inspections, and ensuring ongoing operational readiness.
Capable of accommodating travel for both onshore and offshore assignments, while also adapting to fluctuating schedules that may include on-call duties and shift-based operations.
