Spearhead the development and implementation of the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development portfolio within the country strategy, ensuring full alignment with national priorities and the Foundation’s overarching vision.

Develop and implement comprehensive Access to Finance initiative designed to bolster financial inclusion and stimulate the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular emphasis on those led by youth and women.

Establish clear short- and long-term objectives for the portfolio, shaping its strategic trajectory, programmatic framework, and partnership decisions.

Responsible for managing the development and execution of entrepreneurship-centered initiatives and collaborations, guaranteeing seamless delivery, streamlined coordination, and ongoing enhancement.

Offer technical assistance and collaborative support to other key strategic pillars regarding access to finance and enterprise development initiatives.

Lead the strategic development and execution of market-responsive interventions focused on enhancing access to finance, fostering digital adoption, strengthening business development services (BDS), and advancing entrepreneurship within key sectors such as agriculture and the green economy.

Drive the strategic integration of technology to enhance and streamline operations across the entire portfolio.

Oversee program risks proactively and design mitigation strategies aimed at ensuring long-term, sustainable impact.

Develop and oversee key partnerships with collaborators, governmental bodies, and entrepreneurial networks to enhance scalability and maximize impact.

Drive continuous learning and knowledge sharing by organizing and leading internal and external gatherings, capturing key insights systematically, and engaging proactively in relevant communities of practice.

Drive a culture characterized by innovation, adaptability, and a strong focus on outcomes to foster meaningful collaborations and scalable, high-impact solutions.

Empower and mentor team members to embody Foundation values while driving impactful results for young people, serving as both a coach and a leader.

Offer strategic direction and oversee the performance of the Entrepreneurship team, while fostering collaboration and growth within cross-functional initiatives.

WHO YOU ARE

A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related discipline is required.

A minimum of fifteen years of experience in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, Business Development, or a related private sector role is required, including at least seven years of leadership and team management experience.

Proven expertise and strong connections within Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development, Business Development, or a closely related sector in Kenya are required.

Professionals should possess an in-depth understanding of the nation’s employment trends, job market dynamics, and innovation ecosystem.

Accomplished professionals with a demonstrated history of collaborating with and guiding flourishing entrepreneurship initiatives.

Seasoned professionals with a strong track record in spearheading innovative projects, particularly in enterprise and business development, are encouraged to apply.

Experienced in building strong, productive relationships with senior government officials, strategic partners, media representatives, corporate executives, and influential figures within professional networks.

Demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurial ventures or fostering innovation within established organizations is required.

Professionals should possess a comprehensive understanding of Kenya’s economic landscape, political dynamics, public sector objectives, and the continually shifting trends within the private sector.

Proficient in systems thinking, with a capacity to effectively understand and collaborate with stakeholders in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, and to craft programming that targets root causes and critical needs.
