Mission Description

To maintain consistent functionality, perform upkeep, and execute repairs on diesel generator sets (genets) in order to sustain an uninterrupted power supply for operational facilities, equipment, and essential systems.

Perform systematic preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment and systems. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs conducted. Inspect machinery and infrastructure regularly to identify potential issues before they escalate into costly failures. Follow established maintenance schedules and manufacturer guidelines to uphold safety and operational standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve maintenance-related challenges and enhance overall reliability. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve maintenance strategies.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on generator sets (genets) in accordance with manufacturer specifications and established protocols.

Conduct thorough inspections of oil levels, filters, fuel systems, and electrical connections to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Produce detailed and precise maintenance logs and service documentation to ensure comprehensive tracking of maintenance activities and service history.

Perform corrective maintenance tasks to promptly restore equipment or systems to optimal operating condition following malfunctions or failures. Diagnose issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques, and implement necessary repairs or replacements to minimize downtime and ensure reliability. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including problem descriptions, actions taken, and parts used. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate repairs, prioritize work orders, and verify resolution of issues. Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while executing maintenance procedures. Stay current with evolving technologies and best practices to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

Provide support for the installation and commissioning of new generator systems.

Track and analyze Genet performance indicators, including voltage, frequency, and load levels, to ensure optimal operational efficiency and reliability.

Assess recurring faults and propose appropriate corrective measures.

Prepare regular daily and monthly reports detailing generator performance metrics and operational status.

Ensures adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards within the organization. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety policies and procedures. Conducts regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Provides safety training and education to employees, promoting a culture of awareness and accountability. Investigates incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommends corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborates with management and cross-functional teams to integrate safety measures into operational processes. Serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and maintains accurate documentation of all safety-related activities and compliance records.

Ensure strict compliance with established safety protocols and environmental compliance standards at all times.

Ensure fuels and lubricants are managed and disposed of in accordance with established protocols to maintain safety and environmental compliance.

Ensure strict adherence to the organization’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies at all times.

Responsible for overseeing the organization, tracking, and maintenance of inventory and tools within the operational framework, ensuring optimal stock levels and availability while minimizing waste or loss. Conducts regular audits to verify accuracy, reconciles discrepancies, and implements efficient storage solutions. Collaborates with procurement teams to forecast demand, place orders, and manage supplier relationships. Maintains detailed records, reports, and documentation to support decision-making and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Monitor spare parts inventory levels and proactively submit requisitions for replenishment when thresholds are approached or exceeded.

Ensure all workshop tools and equipment are utilized correctly and maintained in optimal working condition.

Profile

A diploma or certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required for this role.

A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in generator maintenance and repair is required.

Proven expertise in diesel engine systems and electrical system diagnostics is required.

Familiarity with generator brands such as Perkins, Cummins, and CAT is considered beneficial.
