Job Purpose
The Chief Growth Officer will spearhead AMSL’s strategic business transformation, driving revenue expansion, optimizing operational frameworks, and advancing the productization of service offerings. Additionally, the role will oversee client delivery excellence, technology commercialization initiatives, and institutional capacity-building efforts. Working in close collaboration with the Managing Director and Board, the position is pivotal in transitioning AMSL from its current project-based HR consulting and recruitment model into a scalable, high-performing, technology-driven, and diversified HR solutions enterprise.
Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties, including strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership to drive organizational success. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, compliance, and performance across departments. Collaborate with senior management to align business objectives with actionable initiatives, ensuring measurable growth and sustainability. Monitor key performance indicators, assess risks, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize processes and resource allocation. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, ethical standards, and financial controls to uphold organizational integrity and reputation.
The ideal candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:
Developing annual business plans, revenue targets, operating plans, and performance dashboards aligned with AMSL’s growth strategy.
We are tasked with expanding revenue streams within HR consulting, recruitment, payroll outsourcing, HR outsourcing, training, HR technology, salary surveys, and employer-of-record services.
Developing a robust commercial infrastructure, encompassing sales pipeline management, strategic account oversight, tender monitoring, proposal creation, and alliance building.
Transforming AMSL’s services into standardized, market-ready offerings involves establishing precise scopes, transparent pricing structures, realistic timelines, reusable templates, and stringent delivery benchmarks to ensure consistency and quality.
Developing robust operational frameworks encompassing project management, quality assurance, client success initiatives, service-level benchmarks, and performance reporting mechanisms.
We aim to expand recurring revenue streams by offering payroll, HR outsourcing, HRMS/ATS subscriptions, retainers, training programs, and salary data products.
Facilitating the commercialization of AMSL’s HR technology platforms, such as ATS, HRMS, payroll, and HR data solutions, is a key responsibility of this role.
Enhancing recruitment and executive search functions involves optimizing sector-specific teams, cultivating talent networks, managing candidate repositories, and reinforcing client relationships.
Driving the growth and enhancement of elite teams spanning business development, consulting, recruitment, payroll, training, technology, research, and operations.
Overseeing financial performance metrics, including project profitability and margin analysis, alongside debtor management, operational risk assessment, and adherence to compliance standards.
Facilitating regional and international collaborations to enhance talent mobility, provide employer-of-record solutions, and support the expansion of operations in East Africa.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field required. Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably with a focus on full-stack or backend development. Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is essential. Familiarity with frameworks including React, Node.js, or Django is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code. Excellent communication skills needed to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Prior experience in an Agile or Scrum environment is preferred.
The preferred applicant must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Technology, Organizational Development, or a related discipline is required.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Finance, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including no less than 5 years in a senior management capacity, is required.
Demonstrated success in scaling a business unit, professional services firm, HR outsourcing enterprise, recruitment agency, payroll provider, consulting practice, business process outsourcing (BPO) organization, SaaS/technology-enabled company, or regional services firm.
Proven track record in driving revenue growth, expanding business development initiatives, overseeing operations management, fostering client relationships, and leading high-performing teams.
Proficiency in HR consulting, recruitment, payroll, outsourcing, training, HR technology, or professional services will be highly beneficial.
Proficiency in conducting business across regional or international markets represents an additional asset.

Training revenue is generated through public workshops and corporate trainings, while participant numbers reflect engagement and enrollment in these programs.
As a key contributor to HRMS/ATS paying clients and the commercialization of technology products, you will play a pivotal role in achieving critical milestones. This position involves close collaboration with clients to ensure seamless integration of HRMS/ATS solutions, while also driving forward the strategic launch and market adoption of cutting-edge technology products. Your responsibilities will encompass both client-facing engagements and internal initiatives to enhance product viability and commercial success.

Delivering consistent profitability, maintaining strong gross margins, managing debtors effectively, and driving operational efficiency are key priorities.
