AMI seeks a driven and skilled Financial Inclusion and Fintech Expert (Consultant) to create practical, accessible, and actionable learning tools and resources. These materials will empower young women entrepreneurs in Kenya to comprehend, utilize, and confidently engage with available financial and fintech solutions.
Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to established policies and procedures. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive performance and achieve organizational objectives. Monitor departmental performance metrics to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and recommend improvements. Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability to enhance productivity and meet key deliverables. Serve as a liaison between senior management and staff, facilitating transparent communication and alignment with company goals.
Develop the Fintech Knowledge Layer by spearheading the creation of the foundational fintech expertise within the Digitize initiative.
Design educational resources that effectively explain financing access requirements, borrowing procedures, loan limits, repayment schedules, and sustainable funding approaches.
Perform detailed market scans to identify and evaluate fintech solutions and financial service providers in Kenya that cater specifically to agri-food micro-enterprises.
Identify and establish relationships with credible financial institutions and innovative fintech providers that align with the needs of program participants, ensuring a robust and reliable network of partners.
Craft definitive selection criteria tailored to the financial circumstances of young women entrepreneurs operating within the agriculture value chain, ensuring alignment with their unique needs and constraints.
Engage directly with fintech providers to collect comprehensive insights regarding their product offerings, usability, and eligibility criteria.
Develop a meticulously curated, intuitive directory featuring pertinent financial products and services.
Prepare a safeguarding advisory memo that outlines risks, outlines appropriate usage guidelines, and identifies key warning signs associated with predatory lending practices.
Deliver gender-responsive assets meticulously designed to be practical and easily comprehensible for entrepreneurs who may have limited financial or digital literacy.
Collaborate with the team to synthesize outputs into a standalone, accessible e-booklet, consolidating learning content that highlights fintech profiles and provides responsible borrowing guidance.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is a must, and excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal—are critical for success in this role. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to evolving business needs.
Seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of Kenya’s digital financial services and fintech landscape, coupled with a demonstrated history of engagement in the MSME sector.
You must have proven experience in developing practical toolkits, e-books, or instructional learning resources tailored specifically for micro-enterprises or entrepreneurs.
Proven capacity for thorough research and sharp analytical skills — adept at independently assessing, structuring, and evaluating financial products and services.
Skilled in distilling intricate financial terminology into straightforward, engaging, and practical insights tailored for audiences unfamiliar with technical details.
Proficiency in crafting training or educational materials designed explicitly for MSMEs is essential, alongside a nuanced comprehension of the operational hurdles commonly encountered by micro-enterprise owners.
Proficiency in implementing gender-responsive programming or initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment is essential.
Experience or a practical grasp of agribusiness operations and agri-food value chains within Kenya are highly beneficial.
Proficiency in donor-funded or development-oriented initiatives within the financial inclusion sector constitutes a valuable asset.
