AMI seeks a skilled and driven Financial Inclusion and Fintech Expert (Consultant) to create engaging, user-friendly learning materials and resources that empower young female entrepreneurs in Kenya to comprehend, utilize, and navigate financial and fintech solutions with confidence.

Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure seamless functionality and adherence to established protocols, while providing leadership and direction to team members. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to foster synergy, resolve interdepartmental challenges, and align organizational objectives. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as necessary. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies to uphold operational integrity. Act as a liaison between senior management and staff, ensuring clear communication of goals, expectations, and feedback.

Develop the Fintech Knowledge Layer: Assume full responsibility for establishing the foundational fintech understanding within the Digitize initiative.

Design instructional resources that effectively explain the processes for accessing financial services, borrowing best practices, loan thresholds, repayment conditions, and approaches to sustainable financing.

Perform thorough market research to identify and analyze fintech solutions and financial service providers in Kenya that cater specifically to agri-food micro-enterprises.

Identify and establish relationships with trusted financial institutions and innovative fintech providers that align with the needs of program participants, ensuring comprehensive mapping and suitability assessment.

Outline definitive selection criteria for fintech solutions, ensuring they align with the financial circumstances of young women entrepreneurs operating within the agriculture value chain.

Engage directly with fintech providers to obtain comprehensive insights into their product portfolios, evaluating usability metrics and eligibility criteria.

Develop a meticulously organized, easily navigable directory featuring pertinent financial products and services.

Compose safeguarding advisory memorandums that outline potential risks, guidelines for responsible utilization, and indicators associated with predatory lending practices.

Guarantee that every finalized deliverable adheres to gender-responsive principles, remains practical in application, and is presented in an accessible format to support entrepreneurs, particularly those with limited financial or digital literacy.

Collaborate with the team to merge learning outputs into a self-contained, user-friendly e-booklet, highlighting fintech profiles alongside responsible borrowing recommendations.

Requirements

Seasoned professional with deep domain expertise in Kenya’s digital financial services and fintech sector, alongside a demonstrated history of success within the MSME domain.

Proven expertise in developing practical toolkits, e-books, and instructional learning resources tailored specifically for micro-enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Demonstrates exceptional research and analytical skills, with the capacity to independently assess, map, and evaluate financial products and services.

Demonstrated skill in simplifying intricate financial terminology into straightforward, engaging, and practical insights tailored for audiences without a financial background.

Developing specialized training or educational materials for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a strong grasp of the unique operational challenges encountered by small business owners.

Proven experience in gender-responsive programming or initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment (WEE) is required.

Experience or familiarity with agribusiness or agri-food value chains within Kenya would be highly beneficial.

Familiarity with donor-funded or development-focused initiatives within the financial inclusion sector would be particularly beneficial.
