Our client, a rapidly expanding mid-sized freight forwarding firm headquartered in Nairobi, specializes in the seamless transportation of air and sea cargo from major global logistics centers, including Dubai, Guangzhou, London, Milan, Johannesburg, Istanbul, and Amsterdam. Each month, they facilitate the movement of 80 to 100 tonnes of air freight—encompassing both commercial and personal shipments—while also managing one 40ft container on a daily basis. Their comprehensive service model ensures full end-to-end transparency, covering every stage from warehouse intake and customs clearance to final-mile delivery.

Our client is looking for a proactive and seasoned Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to assume complete operational leadership, enhance their organizational processes, and spearhead their upcoming growth phase.

Oversee a broad spectrum of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and performance evaluation to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement comprehensive policies, procedures, and systems to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align initiatives with company goals, fostering a cohesive and results-driven environment. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as needed. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards to mitigate risks and uphold operational integrity. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous growth.

Oversee the management and coordination of seven key departments: Sales, Customer Service, Transport, Marketing, Call Centre, Warehouse, and Operations, ensuring seamless collaboration and operational efficiency across all teams.

Achieve a 20 to 30 percent annual revenue increase while enhancing profitability metrics.

Deliver superior client experiences by ensuring expedited resolutions for any delays, breakages, or claims encountered.

Responsible for managing air freight, maritime container shipments, warehousing operations, transportation logistics, and customs clearance procedures.

Develop and nurture robust global partnerships while deploying advanced technologies to enhance tracking capabilities and operational efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience is required, along with a minimum of [X] years of progressive experience in [specific industry/field]. Prior roles should demonstrate expertise in [key skills or areas of knowledge]. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in [specific tools/software, if applicable]. Demonstrates an exceptional ability to enhance operational efficiency and deliver outstanding client service within logistics.

Proficiency in the regulatory frameworks governing Kenya and East Africa, specifically those administered by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Ports Authority (PA), and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEYS), is required.

A degree at the bachelor’s level in business, logistics, or a related discipline is required; possessing an MBA or credentials such as CULT/FIAT certification would further strengthen the application.
