Purpose:
The role holder will develop and execute strategies to increase company sales and profits, identify profitable business opportunities, secure sound business deals, and lead business development associates. He/ She will be planning and implementing sales, grants, marketing, and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Key Roles:.
Drive profitable business growth through strategic initiatives, partnerships/relationships within the assigned market and channels.
Gaining new business by identifying and exploiting new business opportunities in the regional market;
Recruit and develop a high performing diverse sales team that meets the business needs. And build capacity of intermediaries in the market.
Craft and sustain the retail value proposition.
Understand market trends and Customer requirements in order to a competitive market proposition in retail solutions.
Provide training, motivation, coaching and development needs to the sales force. Work with the various teams to develop pipelines that convert to business.
Monitor sales activities and provide reports with recommendations to optimize sales activities.
Ensure 100% compliance on statutory and regulatory requirements including proper contracting and licensing requirements of the sales force & intermediaries.
Conduct market activations and storms in strategic locations with respective sales teams through visits or other means;
Collate market intelligence reports on products and services and champion cross functional projects to deliver continuous innovation
Providing competitive quotations to prospects.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
Professional qualification in insurance
8 years of experience of which 3 must be in management position preferably in an insurance sector
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
Strong background in conceptualizing and implementing business plan and responsible for the P & L at the location.
Expert in end-to-end Sales Planning – Business Forecasting, Active Pipeline Management and Sales Closures, Client Engagement, Key Account Management & Up & Cross Sell.
Ability to work with a team of people from diverse cultures and capable of providing leadership, motivation, mentoring, developing systems, training and developing talent in the team
