The Assistant QA – Hygiene, Sanitation & Compliance serves as an operational position tasked with implementing and overseeing all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols within the production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to cleaning procedures, effective allergen management, and thorough environmental monitoring, all of which must align with both internal guidelines and recognized certification standards, including BRC, FSSC 22000, and HACCP.

To assess the efficacy of sanitation procedures, perform ATP swabbing, conduct visual inspections, and undertake microbiological surface sampling.

Maintain and calibrate sanitation monitoring equipment, including ATP meters, pH meters for detergent verification, and temperature probes for rinse water.

Monitor and document sanitation critical control parameters, including chemical concentrations, contact times, water temperatures, and line dryness prior to the initiation of production.

Collaborate with production teams to establish and maintain clearly defined cleaning zones, thereby safeguarding against cross-contamination risks.

Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and meticulously maintains accurate records to uphold organizational integrity and operational efficiency. Develops, implements, and monitors compliance policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure alignment with legal and industry requirements. Conducts regular audits, inspections, and assessments to verify adherence to established guidelines and to identify areas for improvement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide guidance on regulatory obligations, ensuring all departments operate within defined parameters.

Oversee the master sanitation schedule, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks for production lines and facilities are executed and documented with proper sign-off.

Collect and prepare environmental samples, including swabs, air plates, and water samples, in accordance with the environmental monitoring plan for submission to third-party testing facilities.

Ensure all sanitation records—including CIP logs, chemical usage logs, pest control service reports, and humidity and temperature checks—are completed with precision and filed systematically for full traceability.

Responsibilities include the upkeep and management of controlled documents, including Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (Shops), chemical safety data sheets, and master cleaning checklists.

Conducts comprehensive audits and implements Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain operational excellence. Performs detailed reviews of processes, systems, and documentation to identify discrepancies, risks, or non-conformities. Prioritizes findings based on severity and impact, developing and executing corrective measures to address root causes and prevent recurrence. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance quality systems, and mitigate potential compliance issues. Maintains thorough records of audit findings, CAPA activities, and corrective actions for regulatory inspections and internal assessments.

Perform internal audits to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene protocols, evaluating compliance with the BRC Food Safety Standard (Issue 9) and FSSC 22000 requirements. Special attention should be given to zoning protocols (high/low hygiene areas) and allergen management within production facilities.

Provide support for upcoming external audits by organizing sanitation validation records, environmental monitoring trend data, and chemical usage logs.

Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) whenever sanitation standards are not met, including instances such as pest sightings or incorrect chemical storage procedures.

Conduct in-depth analyses to identify the fundamental causes of hygiene-related deviations, then collaborate with the sanitation team to develop and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) aimed at eliminating recurrence.

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee Supplier & Raw Material Support, ensuring seamless procurement processes and maintaining robust supplier relationships. This role involves managing supplier communications, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality raw materials to meet production demands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement or supply chain management, with expertise in vendor coordination, inventory optimization, and cost reduction strategies.
