Oversee and execute a wide range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Ensure monthly general ledger reconciliations, schedules, journals, and variance analyses are prepared in accordance with established financial reporting standards and guidelines.
Compile monthly financial statements and develop exhaustive audit-standard schedules and working paper files to ensure precise financial reporting, audit preparedness, and adherence to established accounting standards.
Receive, tag, and log hospital fixed assets in the general ledger and on asset cards to facilitate accurate asset tracking and management.
Responsible for the receipt and verification of hospital gases and fuel, in coordination with the maintenance department.
Compile fixed asset schedules and verify balances to ensure accuracy for financial statement preparation.
Prepare and present data regarding the value of fixed assets slated for disposal, and ensure the fixed asset register is updated and reconciled in accordance with disposal activities.
Evaluate and record the monthly depreciation of the hospital’s fixed assets to comply with established financial reporting standards.
Verify the physical presence and precise location of the hospital’s fixed assets to align them accurately with the recorded inventory.
Ensure that outsourced personnel conduct stocktaking procedures within the hospital pharmacies and generate monthly variance reports documenting discrepancies.
Conduct periodic random inventory counts and validate expiry dates across pharmacies, stores, and other designated departments, compiling detailed reports accordingly; assess appropriate inventory thresholds by analyzing optimal consumption and reorder levels to mitigate the risk of excess stock accumulation.
Address internal and external audit inquiries promptly and in strict adherence to established requirements.
Assigned duties may include additional tasks as directed by the supervisor as required.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related business discipline from an accredited institution is required.
A qualified accountant holding professional credentials such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ARCA is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting with 3 years at supervisory level.
