The Position

The Specialist – Program Governance serves as the cornerstone for maintaining the seamless coordination, meticulous documentation, and rigorous execution of YE FFA’s technical governance framework. This encompasses the oversight and operational management of key governance bodies, including the Program Steering Group (PSG), Strategic Advisory Group (SAG), and Coordination & Collaboration Committee (CCC). The position delivers critical governance oversight and logistical leadership to ensure seamless alignment between strategic decisions, operational execution, and institutional accountability across AGRA’s 10 YE FFA countries.

The successful candidate will establish and uphold the governance framework for the YE FFA Portfolio Management Hub (PMH), guaranteeing that all decision-making procedures are meticulously documented, action items are systematically monitored, and feedback mechanisms between oversight and execution teams operate seamlessly. This individual will manage governance schedules, facilitate executive-level meetings, curate concise briefing materials, and oversee the execution of approved resolutions. The position plays a pivotal role in enhancing AGRA’s integrity and alignment with the Mastercard Foundation and other key stakeholders by ensuring all governance interactions are punctual, transparent, and outcome-driven.

The position entails overseeing governance coordination and ensuring meticulous documentation processes. Key responsibilities include aligning organizational strategies with governance frameworks, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating transparent communication among stakeholders.

Deliver strategic coordination assistance to YE FFA governance bodies and their affiliated boards and committees.

Plan, organize, and oversee governance calendars with a focus on scheduling, logistics management, and meeting coordination for PSG, SAG, and CCC.

Draft and distribute agendas, briefing documents, and preparatory materials prior to scheduled meetings.

Compile and disseminate concise meeting minutes, clearly defined action items, and progress tracking documentation to ensure accountability and foster follow-through.

Collaborate with the Director of Gender, Youth and Inclusiveness to guarantee that governance decisions align with organizational policies, donor mandates, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

The position entails overseeing decision tracking processes and ensuring alignment across relevant stakeholders and departments to maintain consistency and coherence in organizational decision-making. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to document, monitor, and analyze decisions, as well as the ability to facilitate collaboration and communication to align teams with established objectives and strategic goals. Proficiency in tracking tools, data management, and cross-functional coordination is essential to uphold accountability and drive informed, timely decision-making.

Maintain a centralized record of governance decisions while ensuring the implementation of action items is tracked until completion.

Track the advancement of resolutions and recommendations to confirm alignment with strategic and operational objectives.

Analyze obstacles, flag potential issues, and facilitate prompt solutions in collaboration with key leadership.

Prepare comprehensive governance performance reports and analyses on a regular basis—including monthly updates—specifically tailored for leadership review and decision-making.

Ensure that governance records are archived systematically within AGRA’s knowledge repository.

The position involves fostering and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders while ensuring seamless coordination across various teams and departments. Responsibilities include facilitating communication, addressing stakeholder inquiries, and aligning business objectives with stakeholder expectations. Additionally, the role requires managing stakeholder engagement strategies to enhance collaboration and support organizational goals.

Act as the primary liaison among governance stakeholders, comprising PSG, SAG, CCC, AGRA leadership, and external partners.

Effectively engage and communicate with stakeholders before and after governance meetings to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the process.

Collaborate with diverse teams to gather and integrate inputs for governance meetings, guaranteeing adherence to key institutional objectives.

Organize governance-related engagements, including learning events, high-level reviews, and partner roundtables.

Guarantee that all governance-related communications adhere to established brand guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements.

The position involves overseeing governance frameworks and ensuring accurate, timely reporting to stakeholders. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, analyzing performance metrics, and preparing detailed reports for senior management and board members. The role requires expertise in governance principles, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in data management tools. Additionally, the individual must collaborate with cross-functional teams to align governance practices with organizational objectives and enhance transparency in reporting processes.

Design, implement, and oversee governance systems by establishing tracking tools, dynamic dashboards, standardized templates, and comprehensive reporting frameworks to ensure consistent monitoring and compliance.

Enhancing governance structures, strengthening risk management protocols, and reinforcing accountability measures are key responsibilities.

Prepare governance reports and briefing documents in a timely manner for management and key partners.

Facilitate the organization and execution of critical governance events, such as the Annual YE FFA Learning Summit and portfolio reviews.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with proven expertise in the specified field. Candidates must possess a minimum of [X] years of relevant experience, along with a strong academic background in [related discipline]. Demonstrates a strong track record in documenting decisions, ensuring precise record-keeping, and upholding regulatory adherence within intricate operational settings.

Experience in collaborating with donor-backed organizations, including the Mastercard Foundation, the World Bank, or governmental development agencies, is required.

Proven expertise in coordinating tasks, facilitating clear communication, and maintaining meticulous organization while managing competing priorities with efficiency.

Demonstrates advanced expertise in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, alongside proficiency in digital collaboration platforms such as Teams and SharePoint.

Possess a comprehensive grasp of governance frameworks, decision-making mechanisms, and policy monitoring systems.

Proficient in coordinating, organizing, and overseeing cross-functional initiatives with exceptional planning, scheduling, and management expertise.

Requires strong proficiency in writing, synthesizing complex information, and communicating effectively to produce high-level reports and briefs.

Proficient in developing frameworks to monitor progress and preserve institutional knowledge.

Possesses a thorough understanding of governance frameworks applicable to agricultural initiatives and youth employment programs in Africa.
