Hospital Matron

We provide the following specialized services: General Medicine, Ophthalmic, Orthopaedic, Dental, and Renal.
The Hospital is soliciting for qualified applicants for the position of Hospital Matron.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Masters Degree in a relevant discipline
Registered with Nursing Council of Kenya and have a valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya.
Must have a minimum of 5yrs in Nursing Practice at a Senior level.
Must have demonstrated ability to manage departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects and relationships.
Must have ability to plan, organize, implement, monitor, and evaluate departmental goals.
Have strong analytical skills and be result oriented.
Excellent verbal & written communication and report-writing skills.
Must be an inspirational leader, able to amicably solve problems and conflicts.
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines
Should have ability to withstand pressure and a change agent
Excellent interpersonal skills and strategic orientation.
Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice.

Duties and responsibilities:

Lead & manage staff and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Nursing function.
Coordinates, facilitates and assists with continuing professional education, in-service training and orientation for the Nursing cadre.
Review and approve the Nurses operational schedules.
Provide professional guidance and perform periodic review of management functions and facilitate improvements.
Participate in development and maintenance of quality assurance programs in line with ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System requirements.
Participate in the development and periodic review of policy and procedure implementation.
Team up with Doctors and Technical Units in long range goal planning and new programs development.
Responsible for development of Nursing budget, monitoring compliance, and ensuring supplies are at optimum level.
Participate in procurement of equipment and supplies for use by Nursing staff.
Ensure clinics, wards, and theatres are operational, clean, well-organized and in high hygiene standards.
Participate in recruitment of Nursing staff and ensure the department has the optimum staffing levels at all times.
Develop and update standard operating procedures for Nursing.
Develop and implement staff workload standards and prepare productivity reports.
Develop departmental operational goals, objectives and programs, and ensure timely implementation.
Collaborate with all Nursing staff to ensure delivery of quality services.
Coordinate staff in the department to resolve operational problems, promote communication & good relations with patients and the public.
Responsible for addressing patient complaints.
