The Refurbishment Line Manager is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of refurbishment operations within Kenya’s facilities, guaranteeing that returned and recovered solar products undergo efficient evaluation, repair, grading, and restoration to a marketable state. This position includes complete inventory management for spare parts, refurbished items, and field returns, ensuring precise stock documentation, loss reduction, and consistent material availability to uphold seamless refurbishment workflows. What you would be expected to do:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and streamline our daily operational activities, ensuring efficiency and productivity across all departments. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years in a leadership role, with a proven track record in process optimization and team management. Responsibilities include implementing strategic improvements, monitoring performance metrics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Develop, coordinate, and manage the daily operations of refurbishment lines and the After Sales warehouse.

Establish and track production targets to maintain consistent performance in throughput, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) key performance indicators (KPIs).

Oversee the complete lifecycle of returned items, encompassing intake, diagnostics, repair processes, quality assessment, and final dispatch.

Collaborate effectively with logistics, warehouse, and supply chain teams to facilitate seamless material flow.

The role involves overseeing and maintaining accurate stock levels to ensure optimal supply chain efficiency. This includes tracking inventory movements, conducting regular audits, and reconciling discrepancies between recorded and physical stock. Proficiency in inventory management software and strong analytical skills are essential for forecasting demand, identifying trends, and minimizing excess or shortages. Oversee the spare parts inventory to maintain optimal stock levels, guaranteeing continuous refurbishment operations without interruption while simultaneously reducing the risk of excess or obsolete stock accumulation.

Implement and maintain robust stock control procedures, such as conducting cycle counts, performing periodic stock audits, and reconciling physical inventory with system records to ensure accuracy.

Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to analyze return volumes and repair trends, enabling accurate forecasting of spare parts requirements.

Ensure refurbished items are accurately graded, appropriately labeled, and securely stored, maintaining clear visibility of inventory levels to facilitate either redeployment or resale.

Analyze inventory records to pinpoint discrepancies, shrinkage, or losses, and promptly initiate corrective measures to address these issues.

Responsible for leading, guiding, and fostering the growth of high-performing teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance individual and collective capabilities.

Oversee and guide both technical and non-technical teams operating within the Refurbishment Centre function, fostering their growth and enhancing their capabilities through effective management and coaching.

Regularly conduct performance evaluations, pinpoint areas needing improvement, and implement tailored development programs to enhance employee capabilities.

Quality Assurance professionals ensure products and services meet established standards through meticulous testing, validation, and compliance with specifications.
