The Refurbishment Line Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of refurbishment operations within Kenya’s facilities, ensuring that returned and recovered solar products undergo efficient assessment, repair, grading, and restoration to a marketable state. This position includes maintaining complete inventory oversight for spare parts, refurbished products, and field return items—ensuring precise stock documentation, reducing discrepancies, and guaranteeing the availability of materials to sustain seamless refurbishment workflows. What you would be expected to do:

Operations management oversees the efficiency of production systems and ensures that business operations run smoothly and cost-effectively. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily refurbishment line activities as well as After Sales warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflows and adherence to established standards.

Establish and track production benchmarks to guarantee the continuous fulfillment of throughput, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) key performance indicators.

Oversee the complete lifecycle of returned items, commencing with intake and concluding with diagnostics, repair, grading, and final dispatch.

Collaborate effectively with logistics, warehouse, and supply chain teams to optimize and maintain seamless material flow throughout operations.

The Inventory Management role involves overseeing the tracking, organization, and optimization of stock levels to ensure efficient supply chain operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of inventory data, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with suppliers to prevent shortages or excesses. Proficiency in inventory software and strong analytical skills are essential for analyzing usage patterns and forecasting demand. Oversee the spare parts inventory to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring uninterrupted refurbishment operations while reducing excess or obsolete stock.

Execute and maintain robust stock control protocols, such as conducting cycle counts, performing regular inventory audits, and reconciling discrepancies between physical stock and system records.

Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to project spare parts needs by analyzing return volumes and repair trends.

Ensure refurbished items are accurately assessed, marked with appropriate labels, and organized in storage areas, maintaining clear visibility of available inventory for redeployment or resale.

Identify and report any inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, or losses, ensuring prompt escalation and implementation of corrective measures.

Demonstrates proficiency in assembling, guiding, and enhancing high-performing teams through strategic leadership and talent cultivation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Oversee, mentor, and cultivate both technical and non-technical teams within the Refurbishment Centre function.

Conducts regular inspections and audits to identify hazards, enforce protocols, and address non-compliance issues promptly. Collaborates with leadership and department heads to integrate safety and compliance measures into daily workflows. Maintains accurate records, reports, and documentation to support regulatory submissions and internal assessments. Serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, addressing inquiries and facilitating inspections as needed.

You may be an ideal candidate if your qualifications include:
