BBC Studios Factual Entertainment Bristol are the team behind many award winning series such as Antiques Roadshow, DIY SOS, Countryfile, Gardeners World and See Hear. See Hear are looking for a dynamic Production Coordinator who has proven skills working in an environment where attention to detail and prioritising has been key to the success of the role. The Programme and production team use sign language – if you have signing skills that would be a bonus – but not essential to being able to do the role.
See Hear has been in production for many years and is the flagship programme for our deaf community. A willingness to embrace working alongside deaf and hearing members of the team and contributing towards the continued success of the programme is a must.
Role Responsibility
The Production Coordinator provides logistical and coordination support to the production team.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of the post production process
Contributes to the scheduling and budgeting of the production/content in line with divisional requirements and relevant BBC frameworks, guidelines and policies.
Responsible for supporting the Production Manager (or equivalent) in identifying and sourcing appropriate resource and location requirements for the production at the earliest possible stage.
Ensures compliance with BBC policies, guidelines, legislative and regulatory requirements, in order to minimise the BBC’s exposure to risk.
Responsible for ensuring all necessary rights are acquired and recorded for the complete delivery of the production/content, escalating any issues at the earliest stage.
Accountable for resolving any operational and financial issues commensurate with the role.
Ensures the production/content delivers demonstrable value for money through effective and efficient management of people and resources.
Maintains a safe and healthy working environment at all times, escalating any issues or areas of concern.
Proactively looks for ways of improving efficiencies within a production environment, promotes diversity and champions the rationale for new ways of working and/or for adopting new production related technologies.
The Ideal Candidate
Has at least 12 month’s PMA experience in Factual TV production
Experience of setting up shoots, putting together a call sheet, using systems to book crew, make payments and raise contracts
Experience of liaising with on-screen talent
Knowledge of a Studio set-up in terms of crew bookings, guest logistics and technical requirements
Knowledge of a Post-Production workflow and experience of liaising with an external post house
Experience of offloading and backing up rushes
