We seek a skilled Mechanical Technician to uphold the peak operational efficiency of all production and processing machinery. Key duties involve executing both preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnosing intricate mechanical failures, and assisting with installation and modification initiatives. This position is vital to reducing unplanned stoppages, safeguarding product integrity, and fostering a secure workplace in strict adherence to food safety regulations, including GMP and BRC standards.

Oversee and execute essential duties encompassing strategic planning, operational oversight, and team leadership to ensure organizational goals are met efficiently and effectively. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to streamline workflows and enhance productivity across departments. Collaborate with senior management to align initiatives with long-term objectives while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous organizational growth. Serve as a key liaison between executive leadership, employees, and external stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and seamless collaboration. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and ethical standards to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.

Conduct both standard and emergency diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical issues affecting production equipment.

Interpret mechanical drawings, PIDs, and technical manuals to precisely diagnose faults.

Execute the scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) program in order to proactively reduce instances of unplanned downtime and enhance operational reliability.

Perform condition-based monitoring through specialized techniques, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and ultrasonic leak detection.

Ensure strict compliance with Lockout-Ragout (LOT) protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.

Identify mechanical hazards and promptly report them while ensuring all mechanical operations adhere strictly to Food Safety Standards.

Respond quickly to mechanical failures to ensure operations are resumed with minimal disruption to productivity.

Collaborate effectively with production teams to identify challenges and deliver expert technical assistance.

Provide support for the installation, commissioning, and mechanical configuration of newly acquired equipment.

Maintain meticulous documentation of all maintenance activities performed, as well as the parts utilized throughout each process.

Perform comprehensive root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and devise and execute corrective measures to ensure such issues do not reoccur.

Suggest improvements to mechanical systems to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in the specified industry. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in key technical skills, such as data analysis, project management, or software development, as required by the role. Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving priorities are also critical for success in this dynamic environment. Familiarity with industry standards, compliance regulations, and best practices is expected to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, is strongly preferred.

Seeking a Mechanical Technician with at least six years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably within the food or beverage industry.

Skilled at analyzing and comprehending mechanical drawings, PIDs, and equipment manuals with precision.

Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues within mechanical systems, encompassing conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Proven proficiency in utilizing precision maintenance instruments, including laser alignment devices, dial indicators, and torque wrenches, is required.

Possesses a fundamental comprehension of the interaction between mechanical systems and their influence on electrical control systems, including components such as limit switches and sensors.

A strong understanding of mechanical systems pertinent to food processing—including sanitary design, stainless steel finishes, and compatibility with Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) systems—is required.
