In alignment with the UN Women Security and Safety Services Work Plan and reporting to the Regional Security Specialist for the Americas and the Caribbean, the Security and Safety Communications Intern will undertake the following responsibilities:
Supporting the broader communication initiatives of the United Nations Security Management System (UN SMS), you will serve as a key member of the UN Women Security and Safety Services Team. Your primary responsibility will be to help identify, develop, and implement person-centered security and safety communications. Additionally, you will play a vital role in executing the internal security and safety communications roadmap, which aims to enhance awareness, foster engagement, and cultivate a robust culture of security and safety throughout the organization.
Regular communication and collaboration with relevant internal units, divisions, and sections are necessary to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of efforts.
To collaborate with the UN Department of Safety and Security and UN SMS partners in the creation of resilient security and safety communication materials.
We assist in creating gender-sensitive security information, coordination, and communication materials, ensuring alignment with inclusive best practices.
Developing and executing communication campaigns is a key responsibility, ensuring the creation of unified and strategic channels to effectively engage and persuade key audiences.
Crafting compelling presentations that prioritize clear, visually accessible communication is a key responsibility.
With communications and design tools, you will create a variety of communication products, including flyers, presentations, graphics, videos, multimedia materials, and intranet pages.
Engaging actively in the Inter-Agency Security Management System Strategic Communications Working Group as a collaborative member.
