Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Finance Assistant will handle the preparation of Branch credit reports, conduct debtor reconciliations, manage receipting processes, oversee banking activities, and administer petty cash operations.

Oversee and execute critical duties to ensure operational efficiency and team productivity. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to meet organizational goals while maintaining high standards of quality and performance. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align efforts and deliver cohesive results. Monitor progress through established metrics, providing data-driven insights to refine processes and enhance outcomes. Serve as a key liaison to senior leadership, presenting reports and recommendations to drive informed decision-making. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across all assigned functions. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while mitigating risks through proactive measures.

Contribute to the execution of the company’s credit control policy by ensuring adherence to established guidelines and procedures.

Monthly commission and debtor statements are dispatched, while outstanding account inquiries from intermediaries are promptly addressed and resolved.

Ensure timely and complete debt settlement by applying reminders on accounts and ensuring full compliance from all relevant intermediaries.

Initiating the referral of delinquent accounts to external collection agencies, overseeing the pursuit of legal remedies, and submitting pertinent information to the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) form integral components of this role.

Collect premiums on a monthly basis through automated debit transactions.

Tracking and following up on long-outstanding debtors, while evaluating their ability to settle outstanding balances wherever feasible.

The individual is responsible for monitoring bounced checks, promptly contacting clients to request replacements as needed, and compiling a monthly report summarizing these activities.

Verify remittances, including RTGS, EFT, and IPF transactions, and ensure timely receipting within 24 hours. Additionally, oversee daily receipting processes and confirm the banking of all received premiums.

To ensure timely collections and reconciliations, intermediate visits and calls will be conducted to gather necessary data for the preparation of a weekly report.
