About This Role

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will collaborate closely with the Senior Field Coordinator and the NMP team to facilitate the seamless execution of the MEL system. This role involves supporting critical functions such as data collection, compilation, input, analysis, and utilization to inform strategic decision-making.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will oversee quality assurance processes for field-based program implementation, accountability mechanisms, and learning initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to ensuring the timely execution of project activities, the attainment of established targets, budget oversight, milestone tracking, and comprehensive reporting. During significant humanitarian emergencies within the operational areas, the role may require the incumbent to exceed the standard responsibilities and adapt working hours as needed.

Additionally, the incumbent provides assistance to country office and global program strategic initiatives whenever necessary.

The incumbent will leverage the management information system (CAMEL) to enhance program effectiveness and support data-driven decision-making processes. CAMEL encompasses a comprehensive set of data collection and management tools, featuring DHIS2, Comm Care, and a cloud-based data warehouse.

The role encompasses a range of key responsibilities and duties, requiring a proactive approach to delivering high-quality results. Oversee and execute daily financial tasks to ensure accurate and timely accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of accounts. Prepare and analyze financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, to provide insights for strategic decision-making. Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, and support budgetary planning and forecasting initiatives. Ensure compliance with established accounting principles, regulatory standards, and internal policies while implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Maintain meticulous documentation and records for audits, tax filings, and financial reviews, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and accountability.

Monitor and provide updates on the Annual Operation Plan and Results Framework, evaluating progress against established performance indicators and tracking budget expenditures to ensure alignment with financial allocations.

To ensure the effectiveness of activities and maintain high standards of data integrity, perform ongoing process and outcome evaluations, conduct routine data quality assessments, and prepare detailed field visit reports along with action trackers.

We assist external evaluators and the project team by collaborating on the design and implementation of baseline, midterm, and Edline evaluations, as well as any additional specialized studies.

Conduct thorough assessments of NMPs to evaluate their effectiveness, while systematically analyzing lessons learned and incorporating recommendations for continuous improvement.

You will facilitate a range of evaluations, assessments, and reviews while supporting the recruitment of research assistants, managing data collection, conducting analyses, and preparing comprehensive reports.

Collect and address feedback and complaints from community members, whether received directly or submitted through front-line field staff to the AFP.

Maintain a comprehensive log of all feedback and complaints by systematically entering the information into a designated database.

Ensure that referrals and follow-up actions are handled appropriately based on the specific feedback or complaint received.

Engage in systematic monitoring, evaluation, and review initiatives to assess program performance, with particular emphasis on gathering and integrating participant feedback. Additionally, oversee the operational efficiency and effectiveness of existing CFMs to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with program objectives.

The role involves overseeing and optimizing management information systems to ensure seamless data flow and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining MIS frameworks, analyzing system performance, and generating actionable insights from collected data.
