The Credit Officer will oversee farmers’ access to and repayment of financing for their biodigesters by assessing creditworthiness, facilitating prompt loan collections, and preserving a robust credit portfolio—all while adhering rigorously to Sistema.bio’s established credit policies.
You will oversee and manage the following responsibilities:
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of credit accounts is performed to guarantee punctual repayments and maintain a Portfolio at Risk (Par) below 10%.
Conducting thorough assessments of credit applications, the role involves evaluating borrowers’ qualifications in alignment with defined standards, internal credit policies, and the applicant’s risk profile, ensuring loan approvals are completed within a 72-hour window.
Field recovery operations involve performing on-site visits to customers facing delinquency, engaging in discussions to establish feasible repayment arrangements, and addressing obstacles to repayment to ensure at least 80% of monthly collection goals are consistently met.
Dedicated to fostering strong client relationships, this role involves guiding clients through their repayment commitments, warranty details, and the potential outcomes of failing to meet payment deadlines—all while prioritizing exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities include collecting loan installments in full by the due date, reactivating dormant accounts within the portfolio, maintaining contact with consistent payers to prevent missed payments, conducting on-site visits to customers with overdue balances to secure payments, and regularly communicating with all customers to arrange structured payment solutions.
Collaboration involves partnering effectively with commercial, technical, and cross-functional teams to develop customized credit solutions while adhering to established credit policies and ensuring accurate loan documentation.
More about YOU:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline is required.
With a minimum of four years of hands-on experience in last-mile lending, ideally within the microfinance or SACCO industries, you bring a strong foundation to this role.
You possess robust analytical capabilities and expertise in financial modelling, complemented by a thorough understanding of credit risk assessment and financial products.
You possess strong written and verbal communication abilities, enabling clear and effective interaction in both formats.
You possess strong proficiency in credit analysis tools, financial software applications, and Microsoft Excel.
You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and possess a solid grasp of financial statements and accounting principles.
You possess a strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards.
