    What You’ll Bring.

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
    Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and branding.
    Experience with motion graphics and basic video editing (preferred).

  • Regional Manager

    Primary Roles and Responsibilities: 

    The Regional Manager, East Africa will: 

    Lead on the scoping, identification and development of forest partnership businesses that align with the programme strategy and results framework. 
    Oversee delivery of grants and technical assistance to project partners, including leading on diagnostics and implementation of recommendations
    Manage the implementation of the programme’s regional strategy, workplan and budget to achieve the regional targets, in collaboration with other programme staff.  
    Demonstrate relevant expertise in developing and communicating a clear strategic vision and overseeing its effective implementation. 
    Support the Regional Director in building relationships across a wide range of stakeholders including civil society organisation, public and private sector. 
    Act as the programme’s primary representative in the region, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania Uganda and Madagascar.  
    Participate in relevant regional events and conferences, raising the profile of the programme in the region. 
    Lead the regional design and development of other key initiatives, including supply-side, demand-side, enabling conditions and those with a focus on smallholder empowerment and GESI.  
    Work with partners and regional / country teams to identify and facilitate key opportunities relevant to the programme, including potential private public partnerships. 
    Provide technical guidance and quality assurance for selected project activities, outputs and deliverables. 
    Provide regular feedback to the Team Leader, Project Director and other PMU-based teams 
    Provide monthly and regular pipeline and strategy updates to the FCDO-SRO. 
    Oversee the preparation and quality of project concepts/proposals for approval by Internal Approval Committees and the Client. 
    Manage a regional team comprised of various workstreams, supporting to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of timely work and high-quality outputs. 
    Ensure team motivation and wellbeing is prioritised, adhering to good staff management practices including staff planning, recruitment, on-boarding, appraisal, and development. 
    Frequent regional and domestic travel may be required, often at short notice and to insecure locations.  
    Any other tasks requested by the Regional Director, East Africa or the central programme team.

    Essential Criteria:

    Entrepreneurial, self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, results-driven business environment.
    Extensive relevant experience in international forestry, commercial agriculture or commodity trade policy, processes and investments, at a senior management level.  
    Senior level experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and leading on delivery of high-quality results against tight deadlines.  
    Track record of leading a team, delivering results and contributing to positive impact (i.e., economic, social and environmental) with a passion for achieving business and development outcomes.
    Proven track record in leading programmes or managing large, complex projects involving high-level local and regional stakeholder engagements and PPPs.  
    Prior experience of working with international development agencies, for example FCDO. 
    Demonstrated experience in outreach and partnership building across a range of stakeholders, particularly with private sector in East African countries.  
    Relevant experience in sustainability, markets and supply chains for agricultural or forest commodities such as, coffee, cocoa, timber products, non-timber forest products (NTFPs) etc. 
    Cross-cultural sensitivity, with the ability to build and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders across different socio-cultural contexts; 
    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with experience working in an open and collaborative manner across a diverse multi-disciplinary team. 
    Track record of managing a high performing team
    A high degree of personal resilience, flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances. 
    Strong personal qualities, including integrity, equality, openness, inclusiveness and collegiality  
    Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. 
    Must have the right to live and work in Kenya without sponsorship/visa support.

    Desirable Criteria:

    Demonstrated experience working on programmes or initiatives that build livelihood resilience/ focus on enhancing support and empowerment of smallholders and local communities within the forestry sector.  
     Knowledge and understanding of key barriers to participation and equity for marginalised groups in the sector and/or region, including, women and girls, IPLCs and/or people with disabilities.
    Knowledge of local languages will be considered as an advantage.

  • Project Officer

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    Under the supervision and guidance of the Project Coordinator, the Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the GC7 GRANT project activities in Turkana County are fully implemented through provision of technical support and mentorship in accordance with World Relief International rules and regulations and donor requirements.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key Area Activities
    Project Implementation
    Prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports as per donor requirements.
    Working with the Project Coordinator, co-ordinate and participate in the implementation of 
    Actively engage in case finding through public-private mix approaches.
    Represent WRI in forums/meetings with government, partners, and stakeholders on TB management.
    Coordinate and conduct integrated outreach services and sample networking.
    Work closely with Facility Health Workers, CHEWs, CHWs, and other community actors to implement planned activities and interventions.
    Technical Support
    Conduct sensitization and training sessions for Facility Health Workers, CHEWs, CHWs, and other community actors on TB Care and Prevention.
    Monitor field-level activities of CHEWs, CHWs, and other community actors.
    Provide technical support to ensure the quality implementation of project activities.
    Capacity Building
    In close collaboration with MOH teams CHMTs and SCHMTs, strengthen the capacity of Facility 
    Health Workers and community actors through training and mentorship to effectively implement project.
    Build capacity of the private providers engaged in the TB project
    Monitoring and Evaluation
    Maintain and update databases on reported cases for contact and defaulter tracing.
    Participate in strengthening M&E systems applicable to health and TB programming.
    Documentation
    Consolidate community health  workers’ weekly reports and ensure accurate submission for  reimbursement by the project accountant.
    Key in data into NAVISON and  ensure accurate reporting.
    Produce weekly and monthly project  reports 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    Education

    Degree or Diploma in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health, or equivalent.

    Experience

    Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the health sector, particularly in TB projects and  lung diseases.
    Experience in donor-funded health projects, especially Global Fund projects.
    Experience working in Arid and Semi-arid areas highly preferred.
    Experience in community mobilization and working with MOH, County Government, and other  partners.
    Prior experience working in Turkana County is an added advantage
    Ability to work long hours in the field in remote locations required.

    Skills

    In-depth knowledge of Tuberculosis (TB) programming and M&E systems relevant to health and  TB in Kenya and globally.
    Proficiency in ICT, including Microsoft Office programs.
    Excellent communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
    Strong project coordination, facilitation, and presentation skills.
    Good interpersonal and planning skills.
    Ability to work under minimal supervision.
    Commitment, flexibility, and ability to multi-task under pressure.

    Competences

    Responsibilities

    ESG Strategy Implementation

    Support the Head of ESG in the effective execution of SunCulture’s ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall mission to deliver sustainable and innovative solar irrigation solutions.
    Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and initiatives, providing regular progress updates.

    ESMS Development and Alignment Support

    Collaborate with the Head of ESG to design and establish a robust corporate-level Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS).
    Facilitate the integration and execution of the ESMS across all departments, ensuring seamless alignment with SunCulture’s operational and compliance requirements.

    Monitoring and Compliance

    Oversee SunCulture’s adherence to Kenya’s ESG legal framework, ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, social, and governance standards, policies, and regulations.
    Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify gaps and ensure corrective measures are implemented promptly.

    Data Collection and Analysis

    Gather, analyze, and interpret ESG-related data to support effective decision-making and sustainability reporting.
    Prepare detailed ESG reports for internal and external stakeholders, showcasing progress, impact, and areas for improvement.

    Stakeholder Management

    Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, regulatory bodies, and community groups, to communicate SunCulture’s ESG goals, initiatives, and performance metrics.
    Act as a liaison between SunCulture and key stakeholders to foster collaboration and address concerns related to ESG practices.

    Risk Management

    Manage the company’s Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP), ensuring ongoing identification, mitigation, and monitoring of environmental and social risks.
    Work proactively to address potential ESG-related challenges, minimizing operational disruptions.

    Continuous Improvement

    Stay informed on global ESG trends, industry benchmarks, and best practices to keep SunCulture at the forefront of sustainability innovation.
    Propose and implement enhancements to existing ESG policies and frameworks to improve performance and impact.

    Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement

    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, finance, and product development, to embed ESG principles into core business activities.
    Foster a culture of sustainability and ESG awareness across the organization.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field
    Strategic mindset (to merge ESG and Company-wide strategic objectives (i.e. OKRs))
    Up-to-date on ESG compliance, legislation, standards and best practices within the AgTech/solar/agricultural sector, i.e., IFC Performance Standards, SDGs. 
    Experience in working with a multitude of external stakeholders (e.g. institutional investors, impact investors, donors, lenders, NGOs, governments, private sector companies)
    Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or a related field.
    Ability to work with teams across multiple geographies
    Understanding of, or experience in, working with data reporting flows (qualitative and quantitative data)
    Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and analysis on ESG trends, best practices, and industry standards. Strong ability to synthesize information and provide actionable insights.  
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ESG concepts to diverse audiences.
